It looked more like he was relieved to score and alleviate some frustration, rather than anything sinister.

this ...... spot on IMO mate, and all these doom and gloomers can F *% k off, we won 4-2 today, had some nice football played and when a youngster scores, to insure we win the game, which was looking in doubt in the last 10mins, we should be happy ! not Bit "* ing about his celebration !

exactly. he felt embarrassed because he had a poor game and he was gifted a goal from Stevie (when the vice versa should have happened earlier).

to say hes a miserable player is just ludicrous. he usually crip walks as a celebration for fucks sake.
He is a miserable bastard so why not just admit it?

He's a miserable bastard because he didn't celebrate with false pride?

Funny way of looking at it.

Just got back from the game and while Sturridge was poor today some of our fans should be ashamed of themselves. Constantly giving him stick and singing silly songs towards him is not what we should be doing, he's still a young kid who deserves our backing not getting stick because things aren't going right for him

'he felt embarrassed because he had a poor game' - funny way of looking at it, surely it would have been a relief to score and in turn celebrate to make a mense for what was a 'poor game'

why don't you just line him up and shoot him. hes the reason we played shit. and he scored a wank goal so lets lynch him.

jesus, hes a kid, hardly gets a fucking game. he didnt even play the whole game today but he gets the blame.

so what if he leaves, wish him luck and stop being so fucking nasty

Spot on, good luck to him if he goes, doesn't bother me in the slightest if he ends up playing elsewhere.........he's not an important player for us.

Not at all.

There was a spell of around 20 minutes where he lost the ball every single time he got it. Then there was the greed element when he was better off squaring the ball to Ireland for a tap in. Then there was the one on one he missed from Petrovs pass. Then the fans were getting on his back. And in the end it was pretty much a simple tap in on an open goal and while it would have been a relief, it was totally understandable to me why he didn't run off like he'd won the world cup. He looked thoroughly pissed off with his performance and probably the idiotic fans for getting on his back.

he might have been very important in the future but it doen't look like we have a choice unless he suddenly decides to stay. alot of the nastiness is actually bitterness because he's leaving.

Fair point and I may have been a bit harsh. Took his goal well if thats a consolation.
