Suarez 10 game ban (updated page 23)

Re: Suarez 10 game ban

That's my Fantasy Football team screwed!

10 games is a hell of a lot longer than I thought, you've got to question whether Liverpool will bother to appeal. If they do he'll still play this season, in games that don't matter which means, should they lose the appeal, he'll miss more games next season, which matter more.

Does anyone know if this ban is English, or all domestic football? I ask as, I thought it was just an English ban, however Joey Barton's 12 match ban was served in France when he went to Marseille so I just don't know.

Re: Suarez 10 game ban

It's a strange one this, obviously we cant have players going round biting each other but it strikes me as odd that the FA are quite happy to have Rooney going round kicking Montenegrin players up the arse (I'm assuming given that they apealed the length of the ban they thought it was harsh) but biting someone on the arm warrants a 10 game ban. Both incidents would be considered nothing short of assault if they happened on the street/in work etc. Having said that Suarez is a cheating **** with previous so I think the ban is probably about right, it just seems a little inconsistant

suarez banned for 10 games

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been banned for 10 games for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.

Suarez pleaded guilty to a Football Association charge of violent conduct on Tuesday but rejected the governing body's claim that an automatic three-match suspension was "clearly insufficient".

A three-man independent regulatory commission met on Wednesday to decide the Uruguay international's fate and upheld the FA's assertion that further punishment was warranted.

The incident, which occurred in the closing stages of Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Anfield - a game in which Suarez rescued a last-gasp point for his side - was not seen by the match officials and was reviewed retrospectively.

"Both the club and player are shocked and disappointed at the severity of today's Independent Regulatory Commission decision."
Ian Ayre

Suarez has until midday on Friday, 26 April to appeal the additional seven-match suspension.

Liverpool's managing director, Ian Ayre, said: "Both the club and player are shocked and disappointed at the severity of today's Independent Regulatory Commission decision."

Re: suarez banned for 10 games

Harsh. If it wasn't Saurez I'd say the ban would have been less
