Suarez, that you?

He is criminally under rated, but he's not worth 50 million. He's very dangerous, one of the most dangerous in the league, but Kun wasn't 50 million, nor is he worth 50 million, neither is Tevez (who did a better job of single handedly dragging a team up than Suarez is doing at Liverpool). You'd pay 50 million for Ronaldo at his current age, 45/50 for Falcao, and way way more for Messi.

Suarez has certainly stepped it up a notch this season and his finishing is drastically improved, but 50 million? Never.

but he is better player than Torres, and for me he is better than David Villa also.

I know its forbidden to say that a Liverpool player is better than any Barcelona player, but thats my opinion.

Torres and Villa maybe better finisher, more clinical...etc, but Suarez is better player.

I knew someone would bring up Torres. He wasn't worth 50 million either. Roman was an idiot, again. You can say a player is worth what someone is willing to pay if you like but it's rubbish, Torres clearly isn't worth 50m in any known universe. Villa probably is a better finisher, or at least was, but again he wasn't/isn't worth 50 million. He was worth the £35m Barcelona paid for him.

Seriously, 50 million is a lot of money, even by football transfer standards.

Put it this way, Aguero nor Tevez would create as much Havoc as Suarez does all by himself in that Liverpool side. If people actually bothered watching a few games of his you'd see how much panic he creates in defences.

Panic is not worth 50 million quid. 50 million quid buys you a lot more than panic.

As I say above, 50 million is a LOT of money. There are only THREE transfers in the history of transfers above that threshold. Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, and Kaka. Now please don't tell me you think Luis Suarez, of Liverpool Football Club, is in that bracket of player.

I don't want to say 50 million again so I'll leave it there. That place that's nowhere near Luis Suarez.
Yes but in a team like ours, with the other world class players we have that panic will lead to bags of goals. Football transfers have become ridicolous so there's no point trying to look at them with a sane mind.

What is he worth then?
Liverpool paid circa £25m for him when he was unproven, he has a long contract, why should they accept anything less than what they got for Torres?
He's one of the best strikers in the world, clearly. Whatever you think of him as a human being. And the best strikers in the world go for big, big money.

Your 'Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, and Kaka' logic is pretty stupid as well, seeing as they all cost more than the £50m being quoted, and in the case of Ibra and Kaka, are hardly miles better (if at all - especially in Kaka's case)

It sounds like you subscribe to the idea that a player is worth what someone is willing to pay for him, and I've already clarified my position that I don't. So I don't need to explain why the Torres transfer is irrelevant to Suarez supposedly being worth 50m.

Kaka cost a shade over 50m, so ignoring Ibra (which you probably should as that Eto'o deal was one of the most ridiculous things anyone has ever seen), and Ronaldo, and bear in mind you have Zinidine Zindane on the lower side of that 50m mark. Kaka won the Ballon D'or, amongst other things, so was considered the very best footballer in the world. Apparently we tried to sign him but he bottled it, or something.. Zidane doesn't need much explanation. The point is the 50m transfer barrier is not broken very often, and when it is it's for very special players. Suarez is not yet in that bracket. Don't even entertain the idea he can hold a candle to Ibra until he's achieved half what he has.

"One of the best strikers in the world, clearly" .. Bit of a stretch for me I'm afraid. Very good for country, solid at Liverpool last season (but not 'world class') and a very very good start to this season (which I can only imagine is what's fuelling most of this), but we're only 12 games in. If he has a season like Aguero did last season, then you can start talking about 40m plus valuations. Until then, 30m tops. Best strikers in the world go for big big money because they guarantee big big goals. Suarez can't do that yet.

16 league goals in 2012, 5 of them in his last 4 games.

If he carries on like he is he might be worth £40m plus.

But a long way away from that right now.

City will not pay 50m for anyone in this current climate anyway.

Stop reading the tabloids.

He is worth 50 million IMO..... Liverpool value him very highly and rightly so

Spoke to a scouse cabbie in Liverpool today. He told me that the main security guy in charge of transporting the teams around had said Mancini will go all out for Suarez, offering around 50m for him. Sounds like bull to me unless we are selling 2 strikers

We would not pay more the 25m for him in my opinion. Dont think we are in for him in any case.
