Suella Braverman - sacked as Home Secretary (p394)

You’re not the first to wonder that. I think she’s mad enough to think she can get the top job.

Didn't she go on Peston and announce she wanted to run for the leadership before anyone else, when Johnson's time was up? I actually wanted her or Badenoch to win, either would have been better than this current Theresa May 2.0 bot, Liz Truss or indeed Jeremy (remainer) Hunt who some say is really now running the country.

Relax, plans are afoot to allow refugees who arrive here to work etc. Not to mention, Truss, sorry, Hunt, wants to massively increase immigration to meet labour shortages and growth targets.

Truss, sorry, Hunt, is embracing reality rather than the fantasy economics of the last six years. Even better, the Tories are going to get wiped out at the next election and we will be cosying back up to the EU and getting those pesky trade barriers removed or at least reduced.

It‘s a win, win, folks!

It's a remainer coup is what it is and it will finish the Torys for a generation (if that hasn't been done already in the shambles of the last month). I mean how come Jeremy Hunt - who was evicted from the recent leadership contest quite early on - is now in effect the de facto Prime Minister?

Utter b/s!!
52% of the people who VOTED, not 52% of the people.
Two different things entirely!

This is very true, if just a small percentage of the 18-25 age group (in 2016) had got out of bed and bothered to vote in the Brexit referendum, the result would have been the opposite of what it was and their laziness will impact on them the longest!

It doesn't change things though, 'cos rules are rules.

Wow.
A Nazi City supporter.

I suggest you go fishing elsewhere. You’re fooling no one.

And MANY of that 52% weren't voting on immigration, but in fear of tax havens (like the people who funded the leave campaign)

Sorry mate ...I've read some shit ,,,,,,, but to propose that the majority of Brexit voters didn't vote on 'reducing immigration' is probably the peak .

every vote for brexit was based in some part on a hatred of forriners

Have been wondering if she might have sent that email on purpose to give her a reason to resign so she could distance herself from Truss in the hope of getting a job from whoever's next.
Absolutely this, a minor technical error to provide opportunity to have a real pop at Truss. If I didn't know better I'd think this was an act born of honour akin to a samurai warrior seppuku or the sacrifice of a tibetan monks self-immolation to bring a great wrong into the public eye......but maybe I go to far

I know quite a few that voted to leave because they believe that the EU is a capitalist system that see's workers as mere units of production, and if we hadn't had a government fairly extreme in it adherence to "trickle down economics" and the "free market economy (apart from when bankers crashed the economy), I would have been tempted to agree.
As well,of course as those who panicked when the EU threatened to close the tax havens.
