Suella Braverman - sacked as Home Secretary (p394)

I know quite a few that voted to leave because they believe that the EU is a capitalist system that see's workers as mere units of production, and if we hadn't had a government fairly extreme in it adherence to "trickle down economics" and the "free market economy (apart from when bankers crashed the economy), I would have been tempted to agree.
As well,of course as those who panicked when the EU threatened to close the tax havens.

So an almost negligible number then?

Lexit was to Brexit what Mark Hughes was to City lifting the Premier league.

Given the very narrow margin of difference in the votes, it wouldn't have taken many to switch to have changed the outcome, and we will never know how many abstained because of the conflicting information, quite possibly enough to have changed the outcome of the vote in the ADVISORY REFERENDUM

And yet outside of fringe left wing movements nobody mentioned the EU being capitalist as a reason to leave the EU.

Going from the EU's regulated/semi-regulated capitalism to the market fundamentalism of Brexit makes as much sense as Cook and Marwood would have done in appointing Psycho and Beanie to replace Hughes after all those draws.

What is interesting about Braverman is that the Triratna community with which she is affiliated emphasise a meditative practice called metta-bhavana, which basically consists of radiating loving-kindness to all sentient beings.*

Additionally, a fundamental ethical precept that they are meant to adhere to is that of ahimsa or ‘non-violence’ when it comes to those aforementioned beings.

Quite how all that finds expression in Braverman’s Rwandan dream, as well as her view that human rights may be set aside in some circumstances, might seem somewhat mystifying, until the similarities between her thinking and certain political views that were espoused by this character are taken into consideration:

Hopefully, someone in the media will highlight this eventually, as all they have done so far is point out that she is a member of this organisation. They need to delve more deeply.

*A category that excludes Truss, of course.

She’s nothing more than a bully - end of.

Who votes for these people?
