Suella Braverman - sacked as Home Secretary (p394)

Catchphrase or not, governments around Europe have the same problem to solve, how to stop the boats.
Governments around Europe have the same problem but opted for trying to work together. We've opted out of trying to work together. Opting back in would be a step in the right direction.Dogma of the right wing tories prevents that first step.

ALL MPs should only be allowed one job , an MP, no appointments on to ANY board, no advisory roles, your an MP and MP only, if you don't like it, resign.
we would be ruled by the aristocracy and billionaires who could afford it, what’s needed is stricter regulations on lobbying in fact an outright ban is needed make it a crime to try and influence an elected person, are you allowed to lobby a judge? MPs need to represent their constituents not big business and other countries, the law should me made to the benefit of the people

I’ve never understood our asylum process. Just let people apply for asylum at our embassies / consulates, if approved pop them on a plane/boat.
The asylum process is to pretend to care, but actually make it as difficult as possible to claim asylum and hope they go somewhere else. In the UK, our immigration system seems to be mainly set up to milk foreigners while making it as difficult as possible to actually go to the UK. My wife just got rejected for a visa to visit for Christmas. In the rejection letter, they said the reason was that I was in the UK and I was paying for her trip, while she has no savings (she does, but they're in my account), meaning it looks like she's actually coming to live. Only problem is I don't live in the UK, as was made explicitly clear, with evidence on the application form and with all of the supporting evidence. But yeah, whatever, 115 quid down the drain with no right to appeal and no recourse whatsoever against the person who clearly didn't even read the application properly. And that's just a tourist visa. If that was a settlement visa, that could be a grand down the drain all because someone just didn't bother to do their job.

As you say it’s a political weapon and doesn’t suit agendas to make it straightforward. Bonkers.

We have to be quicker with the applications and that can be done abroad, lots of people get asylum and economic migration confused.

86K a year plus living expenses and staffing costs, a nice little earner, there would be no shortage of normal decent people who would want to be part of it.

Fantastic post, now define:

A sorted Brexit

Your taxes are about to rise by 10% to sort the NHS because apparently it doesn't matter what it costs-what defines sorted

Immigration-a tough stance in place already. Unfortunately this is a worldwide issue and not just UK centric.

I agree on benefits to a degree

Who's you favourite strong leader?
Wish i had the magic wand.
Brexit should be reversed as even those who voted for it must see we are worse off.Not too sure that the EU would have us back.

The Nhs needs proper funding if taxes have to go up so be it.Get rid of the middle managers and put the money where it needs to go.

Immigration i am afraid needs to be tougher.

Work dodgers need to work for thier money put something back.

Strong leader have we got one? Maybe a Mourdant,or Hunt.
Reeves from the Labour party.
Watch the abuse i get for that suggestion.

Would there? I doubt anyone on less than 40-50k would consider leaving their career for a job they might be thrown out of in 5 years that's if they even get elected after maybe a few years of trying to get selected and elected.
I'm not against restricting other jobs but MPs would probably need to earn more than £86 k
