I think that things are accelerating way more quickly than Braverman thought they would - she is out of her depth and is struggling for air
Well yeah, but when you're obviously not capable of fixing any of the other problems in society, where else can you turn? It's all about controlling the narrative. Every minute of BBC News, Question Time, Newsnight, etc, that is spent talking about this stupid fucking Rwanda plan is a minute that is not spent talking about how they've completely fucked every aspect of the country over the past 13 years. It also helps that 'stop the boats' is such an easy thing to do (they could stop them tomorrow), that when they do it, just before the next election, they'll at least have one success story to point to. And plenty of thickos will actually fall for it.They are convinced that "stopping the boats" is the key issue for the electorate, I'm more concerned about stopping the self servatives asset stripping the country even more, stopping the privatisation of our NHS, stopping our elderly freezing to death, stopping our children being malnourished.
Illegal immigration from small boats wouldn't be in the top 20 issues, maybe in the top 100, and giving Rwanda money to agree to send us migrants by plane does nothing to change anything.
Maybe time to start highlighting the IMPORTANT issue's, and when comments pages are filled with REAL issue's maybe the collective WE can adjust the narrative and the debateWell yeah, but when you're obviously not capable of fixing any of the other problems in society, where else can you turn?
