Summer clearout - who?

In the wake of the Sunderland game I've read in a lot of posts from people who want the team to show more fight and commitment, and some even calling for some large-scale personnel changes in the summer.

But which players appear to lack the stomach for a fight? After all, from the evidence I've seen it's really only Silva and Zabaleta who don't occasionally put in a lacklustre performance... And realistically how large a turnover of players can a squad absorb?

Personally, I'm not in favour of a major clearout, or even a minor one, although we clearly need one or two new players. But that's it.

But I'm interested to know who people mean when they talk about getting rid of people who don't appear to fight enough? My guess is they mostly mean Dzeko and Nasri, but I've even seen Hart's name thrown around recently... So who are these players who don't care enough?

(edit: and I only mean players - no MP arguments, please)

3 threads on this page about the same thing, why another?

Every time I see Casillas mentioned about replacing Hart I cringe . He can't even get into the Real Madrid team so why would
City want him . If people Are going to mention names at least be a starting player.

Sinclair (not good enough)

Rodwell (never fit, never will be)

Richards (never fit)

Garcia (despite immense improvement and likeability, he is far to limited and there are more versatile players out there)

Dzeko (soft as shit, sulks far to much, doesn't fit the style we play, needs to many chances to score, doesn't dig in)

Boyata (absolutely bobbins)

These 6 are definitely not good enough for where we want to be.

He isn't in the Madrid side because the powers that be at Madid think he hold too much power in the dressing room, his wife is a journo as well I think and when Mourinho orginally dropped him it was thought that it was because Jose believed him to be the rat leaking lots of bad press last season.

If you watched him the Champions League and Copa this season he looks like he still plays every week, the man is a class keeper and still one of the best in the world.

He is only at Madrid still because of the loyalty he has to them and the fact he is the last original Galactico, but from what I read in the press he is considering his future this summer.

His experience and leadership would be second to none to any team wanting to take him on.

Hart- overrated
Richards- too many injuries
Rodwell- see Richards
Dzeko- too expensive for third striker, too inconsistent
Nasri- too inconsistent for the obscene wages he's paid

I don't think we'll win much until we cut the fat.

I would give Hart another season to prove himself but if he shows no sign of consistency like the past two seasons then he is out for me.

If Casillas fancies a move to City in the summer thought then we should consider it.

I'm fine with that. Went back and forth about whether to put him on the list.

He's far from our greatest need. But like you said, he has to improve drastically if he's to stay.
