In addition to those already leaving (Nastasic, Richards, Negredo, Guidetti, Sinclair, Lampard and Milner), we should sell Jovetic, Dzeko, Yaya, Kolarov and Boyata.

Doing this would free up a lot of the wage bill so we can focus on attracting world-class talent like Koke, Reus, Gaya etc. Emphasis should be on getting three or four top-quality players rather than quantity and adding depth to the squad.

I’m gutted that Pellegrini is staying. I think this season it’s imperative that he stops persisting with 442 and falls in line with the club formation which appears to be 433 at every level. I think if we trim the fat and acquire our first choice targets we will be ready to compete for the league again.
