Summer Transfers

Dream window

Donnarumma
Bellerin
Bonucci
Rose
Weigl

Imagine

Donnarumma

Bellerin
Stones
Bonucci
Rose

Fernandinho

Sane
Silva
De Bruyne
Sane

Aguero

Would leave a bench of, Willy, Otamendi, Sagna, Gundagon, weigl, Yaya, Jesus
Looks a lot like a window from the Mancini era. A few overpriced players from Italy and a few overpriced playwrs from England and 1 good signing.

That said, I know Sane is good, but damn even he can't be on both wings at the same time. :p

Haha yeh well he is quick. I think its unfair classing Donnarumma and Bonucci as overpriced players from Italy. Bonucci has been one of the best defenders in the world over the past 5 years and Donnarumma has been the most promising GK for the past 2 years. Also who is the overpriced one from England?

Both players are good, bit we will be gouched as always from Italy.

Rose and Bellerin will be like signing Nasri and Lescott. Both decent players, bit Wil cost us 2ice their worth to procure their services.

There cheaper and just as good or better everywhere.

Nah. I hated Mancini era transfer windows. I was never happy.

I like talent, bargains and gems. Gems who are bargains too are almost never found in Italy or England.

I dont think you can write off to much of SA to be honest.

Kolarov has been a mainstay since, despite people calling for his head.
Maicon was a veteran, sadly not up to the task and physically.
Nastasic was great, i regret we sold him, i personally liked him as a player.
Balotelli, Balotelli. Legend for me here. And we recouped most of his transfer fee, despite him being a nutter.
Jovetic, was a hit and miss. Looked like a real gem, but all those months disappearing and injuries nagging him ruined his career here. Just look at him injury free now, hitting the ground running with Nasri at Sevilla.

Donnarumma is a good shout there but I doubt he will move. Will be tough competition to get him as well I can see him being one of the top goalkeepers if not the top in his prime. But young keepers are always a risk, and wouldn't be fair to Gunn at the moment if another young keeper comes in.

My summer wish list would be

1. Sidibe
2. Bernardo Silva
3. Andrea Belotti

I would take Mbappe too but he's not yet a finished product.

One defensive signing will not be enough. We have Fernando, Sagna, Clichy, Zabaleta and Caballero out of contract in the summer. We also do not need to spend big money on forwards like Belotti and Mbappe (although I'd take Mbappe in a heartbeat) and think we should proceed with our current forward line unless an extraordinary forward (suited to our play) is on the table (Messi, Neymar, Bale, Dybala, Suarez, Griezmann, Sanchez, Aubameyang).

My list would be ederson, henrich, sidibe, fabinho, dahoud and isco. Mbappe would be a decent shout but we don't really need him. Free release willy, Clichy, zabaleta, sagna, fernandinho, yaya and navas. Sell delph, fernando and nolito. Get either Roberts or zinchenko a chance in pre season and keep the one who fits best.

Likely window for me is:

Schmeichel
Bonucci
2 full backs(but these may well be unknowns or god forbid Dani Alves)
Isco
Messi(if Kun goes, no striker if not)

We'll see Maffeo return plus a handful of other loanees due back. Marlos Moreno, Patrick Roberts, Zinchenko, Unal and a ton more. We'll have to use some of these and others will be sold, so it's hard to get a handle on how all the ins and outs will really pan out.

Just out of interest where have you got Scmeichel being likely from?
I've not seen or heard of any rumors and we've been pretty much linked to every goalkeeper plying his trade these last 6 months.

It's an educated guess. I've speculated on it since December, and oddly links showed up in Jan(lazy journos reading here).

If Leicester go down, he's a shoe in to move.

Homegrown and club trained plus we'd get him relatively cheap considering his pedigree. Looks comfortable with his feet and is by all accounts a model pro.

It would also be a pr masterstroke after the Joe/ Bravo mess to bring home an academy lad for Joe's shirt.

I just wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to see it happen.

Fair do's. Don't see it myself but then trying to second guess what business we'll do in the Summer is a pretty impossible task.

Might aswell just bring joe back if schmeicel is the option. Surely like for like.

Not when you consider the human aspect. Joe clearly isn't well regarded as a person within the club, despite us all adoring him. There's been plenty of rumours over the years to support that.

Fernando is not out of contract.

Its Yaya, Navas, the 3 fullbacks and Willy.

That said I agree with you we need more than 1 defensive signing.

Ive never heard rumours about Joe I must admit. That said the public persona can conflict with the reality when you meet players.

Lots of mids. But then again you are letting go of Yaya, Fernando, Dihno and Delph. That's a lot.

I really don't see how or why Dihno will be let go with his utility value and 1 year left. The other 3 I can see. Yaua's contract is up. Delph is too injury prone and Fernando lacks utility.

Personally I'd keep Dihno and not get either Fabihno or Dahood.

Definitely in the get Isco camp. Also get 2 fullbacks. My preferences in this order (RB: Semedo, Perreira, Heinrich, Karsdorp) and (LB: Bernat, Grimaldo, Sinkgraven, Mendy). Get Ederson. Unconvinced by any of our goalies long term potential (Including Joe).

Then if possible top off with Mbappe.

Or Alternatively. Just get Messi :-)
