Summer Transfers

surely when we get a new CB Fernandinho will back up rodri?
Fernandinho will be kept on primarily as back up to Rodri, but more for his knowledge experience and leadership, his legs have gone and the mistakes are happening more frequent, but that is why i would buy Camavinga as he would not take up a squad place but could play alongside Rodri and Fernandinho as their legs

Not the most hyped up or fashionable name but Konrad Laimer at Leipzig would probably be the best fit to rotate with Rodri. I've been very impressed when I've seen him. He covers ground and intercepts similar to Kanté, but he offers more going forward and got excellent ball ball progression.

He's also absolutely rapid for a defensive mid, I think he'd be the fastest midfielder in our team if he were to join, faster than Bernardo as well. If I were to compare him to someone it would be Allan at Napoli or maybe Fernandinho in the beginning of his City career.

Here's a video for those who haven't watched a lot of Leipzig:

I have heard good things of this lad recently, but given the choice of one player from Red Bull it would still be Upamecano, just think he fits us well given our need and quality

If we include Angelino in a deal we could probably get both. Leipzig are a selling club, throw them 80m + angelino and they'd probably accept. And then we'll take Nagelsmann after Pep leaves

Heard bayern are in the running for upamecano.
Bayern have way too many defenders. If Upamecano is smart he'll join us because there's literally no competition. He and Laporte can probably bond over not being picked by the blind man that is Deschamps. Bayern got Hernandez, Pavard, Alaba, Boateng, Süle all capable of playing CB
