Summer Transfers

Upamecano has a year left on his contract why would he sign a new 1 year contract if he wanted to move to Bayern next season ? the press is reporting his agents reaction to Arsenal trying to buy him on the cheap as ` Dayot Upamecano's agent Volker Struth believes it is highly unlikely the defender will move to Arsenal this summer, despite RB Leipzig having made clear that the Bundesliga club will not allow any of their high-value players to run down their contracts and leave on a free.`What happens when City offer more than Bayern + Angelino?

I don't believe large transfers will take place this summer," Struth told German TV channel Sport 1.

"And I think Upamecano is a player who will demand a large fee.

Leipzig pressures the player into leaving for the contracted 60 million EUR - or extending the contract (for a higher wage, the 60 m EUR probably unchanged). Upemecano probably will do the later - and Struth somehow confirmed that last Sunday.

Seems that the clubs Upemecano wants to go to cannot give him the conditions he wants this season or do not want to pay the transfer sum.

I do not know if one of this clubs is Bayern, but the media (like they usually do here) heavily links him to them. But Bayern has Süle coming back and Boateng who is very much liked by Flick (and performing well right now) probably staying another season. Bayern like all teams despite being in a very good situation compared to a lot others will only make necessary transfers this season. Corona means much less earnings this season and a next season that could see less earnings because of playing without stadium spectators and less commercial income because of the recession.

I do not know if it is about lack of the right clubs interested right now or maybe even that he thinks it is better for his development to stay another year at Leipzig with a talent developer like Nagelsmann to be better equipped for the more difficult fight for places in a top club.

Just my thoughts about it. Arsenal would not really be a move upwards...

I can follow Struth's thoughts very well. This season the transfer market will be different. All clubs have lost money and the situation is very uncertain. The clubs that are better off will only make necessary player sales and/or try to make bargains - whereas a lot clubs will have to sell and accept prices below former market value. And clubs like e.g. Dortmund, Leverkusen or Leipzig probably will wait a year to sell talents like Sancho, Havertz or here Upemecano as they hope do get more money in a year (and they can survive this season without selling!).

Problem is, Semedo is terrible. He has been underwhelming for Barca, well thats why they want rid. Plus Semedo and Cancelo pure swap is not good. Barca should pay us money on top cos in the right environment, Cancelo is much better than Semedo.

Getting fucked over by G14 club would be disgusting too. (barca one of the clubs putting pressure on uefa)

Barca want to get rid of him because they need the money. They have been a mess since Neymar has left. Neglecting their team in an attempt to sign an ideal star forward. Which they are continuing by selling off their squad to get Lautaro. Semedo is a good player and I wouldn’t mind him, but I do consider Cancelo to have a higher ceiling because he is better in the attacking department. Semedo is a quicker and better defender.

surely thats what we need though a better defender? we have shit loads of attacking options and semedo would still add to them?

Personally I don’t have an issue with signing him. He has the skills to workout perfectly in this team. I just wanted to point out he is a good player and the issue with him for Barca is the fact they need cash for a pointless signing.

Right i think i know where you are coming from, so in short Upamecano who was playing crap at the beginning of the season before he went out injured, and was talking about moving hence not signing a contract, has been asked to think again about staying because Bayern have not got the money to buy him this season.
Basically the German press have airbrushed the team that can afford him his wages his ambition and any recession out of existence, if of course we were interested?

Watched a Leverkusen replay yesterday, someone had posted a youtube vid of Diaby where he looked an awful lot like a young Sane, and watching in a full game he could be, but he is at the Child/Man stage where he could be Sane or Lookman, in a year i think we will know the difference .
While watching though Havertz was playing and today in the media he said he was staying put this season, he is a good player , if he plays with quality round him he will get a lot better but his work rate is what stood out it was excellent, and in a year Gundogan will probably leave, will we be in for him?

I'm the one who posted about Diaby. Obviously he's raw as this is his first season starting at elite level but he definitely has the potential to match Sané's current level at least. He's also quicker of the mark than Sané, so he'd be a real threat on the left

As for Havertz he's probably gonna be world class but I'm not sure he'd improve us that much or if he's something that we need. He'll cost maybe 100m so it doesn't offer value for money. We already have Kev, Bernardo and Foden that can play the direct and attacking role in midfield

Ah thought it was and like i said he does look like a Young Sane, but it is the next step that is a big one for him, If Marhez was leaving it would be an easy shout for back ups Diaby on the left Braaf on the right, but i do not think he is so Braaf is the more valuable player for us.
Not sure a possible £ 100 million would put us of Havertz next season, getting a Gundogan improvement is not hard, but this lad could be KDB long term replacement

Sané carried Schalke alone at the age of 19. Diaby has no Endprodukt. Imo he is just a bee fast LW. I don‘t see the potential to reach Sané. Especially since Sané is a better dribbler imo and more flexible. Diaby would be a good wingback.

Sané was definitely better at that age but Pep uses Sané as a run down the left flank and hit a low cross merhcant, and that's something Diaby can do as well
