Transfermarkt.co.uk have them at 36m€ Stones and 14.5m€ for Otamendi.

What would you guess is realistic for those two?

I would commission a statue of Txiki if we got over £25m for both. Otamendi is on big wages and hasn't been in stellar form, we have a chance of letting him go on a free with us covering some wages. Stones, we have a chance of Arsenal or Newcastle spending money on him but they won't offer us big amounts. 25m would be a "on book" profit so we would take that I think.
 
We need some serious outs and serious ins. If any of Stones, Otemendi, Fern, Rodders and Jesus are in the starting 11 for the opening game of next season then we have a big problem

Apart from 2 centre backs we need pace on the wing, a proper striker(maybe 2) and a defensive midfielder who can run

Rodri and Jesus almost certainly will be be and IMO should be.

Rodders is ok as a sub, I suppose but I think we’ve seen enough of Jesus that he’s not going to be our top striker when Aguero goes - we should be able to raise decent funds if we sell so put that towards getting Harry Kane. Spurs have bills to pay and won’t be in the CL next season

It's all opinions, but I'd be extremely surprised if boh players aren't regular starters next season. Jesus isn't Aguero, but then the centre forward won't be the same after Aguero,and as a comparison Jesus would be more like Firminho but with added goals. Rodri with a stroneger pair of centre backs will be a top level deep play maker.
 
Tanguy Kouassi has moved to Bayern on a free - so thats one of our suposed targets according to Ezzy gone. tbf I think i remember him saying we would have competition from Bayern for him

I didn't see the Bayern link coming. But he was the hardest of our targets because of the number of CB we would've had.

Great move for him though if they're not planning on replacing Boateng & Martinez.

Any update on the other targets you mentioned? (Camavinga, Bastoni and Ihattaren) I know you mentioned some were done. When do you think they would be unveiled?

we should start to see more public reports in around 2 weeks or so when CAS outcome is known & window in other countries start to open.

Left / Right Sided Attacking Midfielder?
Messi's role in recent years has transformed to neither that of a right winger nor that of an attacking midfielder, he is a perfect hybrid of both roles combined. Messi has the required skillset to play both roles with the same level of quality.


Bernardo Silva is another example of a right sided attacking midfielder, a role he has played almost all of his career.
(he's not a hybrid, unlike Messi)

"You have some areas on the pitch where you feel a little bit more comfortable, but me I've played almost all my career on the right side as an offensive midfielder, or number 8. That's where I feel more comfortable."

Description of the role Bernardo played on the right of the Monaco 4-4-2



De Bruyne is turning into a complete midfielder.
Bernardo can do the same. But he needs to be playing in midfield long-term to be able to improve.
  • Against Liverpool 18/19 home & away he played in a double pivot brilliantly
  • First half of 18/19 he mostly played Kevin's AM role brilliantly
Bernardo cannot do that from the wings.
(he's not a goal threat, unlike Messi who can play as a winger perfectly)

You've been pretty consistent in you stance on targets, but what happens if we don't get Bastoni? Is there any alternative plan b targets or is it him or bust?

Everything I see points toward Koulibaly and a lesser known, potentially cheaper CB. Ake is the name floated but Bastoni could fit that model too. Holgate as well.

right sided centre half/fullback -

Either suggests cover for Walker and Cacello leaving or reinforcement at centre half

He is 24 (older than i thought)

I know it wont happen but i do wish we would look at sorting out the left back position - it is a continous weak area in our team
