If we sign 3 expensive players this summer and all have the same impact as Rodri and Cancelo had this season we are fucked next season.

Another £150m on defenders might do us a bit of good.

yep but tevez was at the scum and city turned his head (plus his agents) but still got him so that’s what we need to do again to stay at the top!! same with haaland, havertz, kane ect..

Spot on. How do you replace Sane and Silva, Aguero and Dinho? We’ve bought some dross as well. Losing Danilo for Cancelo is among worse transfers, his lack of minutes says everything and tbf Danilo never let us down.Said this in the its quiet thread:

It does feel like its all falling apart at once. fernandinho and silva both falling away this year, the clear need for CB's, the clear need for LB. Aguero's replacement needed soonish. arguably another CM. agree might not be able to do that all in one summer. Might be 2022 before we're back in title contention.

Agree. I think danilo wanted to leave but in granting him that request we totally skewered the business we did that summer. Sometimes city have got to be tougher and be like no you're staying for another year because we need to focus elsewhere.

I would just use the kid, Couto, who we bought for €10m in January. He's barely played any football, but lets face it, Cancelo only needed to start 6 or 7 games all season, mostly against cannon fodder in the cups. If Walker picked up an injury and we needed to play without him for a while, we could just play 3 at the back (when we bring in centre backs) if the kid's not ready or no one can fill in.

Now its falling apart as a result and we cant fix it in one window. Squad has been mismanaged since 2017
