Sunday's NOTW re Stadium expansion ...

We did not sell out v Liverpool.

Yes you expand to get more income, but no club does this with a view to dropping prices.

I would not expect City to do so either.

The rags after 68 were poor, what fucked us up was letting Joe Mercer go.

We didn't "let him go". Mercer walked out on us and took a job at Coventry City, thanks largely to Malcolm Allison's insistence on being top dog. Thanks Malcolm...

I'm sure i read somewhere that work on stadiums, expansion and that, don't count towards Platini's daft rules on spending, so if we could spend on the stadium to earn more it would benefit us.

Yes but if England are fortunate to get the 2018 games then we will get additional funding from FIFA and the likes, for upgrading !!

why would we want a 75k stadium only last week we couldn,t manage 24k for a european game we have a hard core support of around 30k and the rest turn when it suits or funds are available sure if we,re winning stuff more will turn out, but 4days after stuffin liverpool we had an half empty ground. lets concentrate out us and stop worring wot them across town do.

Those 2 sentences perfectly sum of the sheer stupidity of the News Of The World.

Only humans with the (non) brain of a dodo would read that shitty paper

???

Ashton's one of the top media boys with loads of contacts in the game. His stuff from South Africa this summer was definitely on the mark
Really hope your not one of those dimwits who buys the NOTW. You need to read all the shit and lies written about City recently by the papers to understand most of it is complete lies and is only written sensationally to sell papers.

if city expand the staduim ticket prices will either stay the same or decrease, the owners don't reallt care about the money, they have to much to worry, he just wants to recognised and create a legacy, he wants to create the best football club out-right that play in the best conditions including a full staduim. Why would city need to increase tickets prices?

And don't just say its still a business because its alot different when your finances are so high, its about your brand image rather than your finance!

All muslims care about their money pal, if it wasnt a business, why the increases this year? we need to be turning over cash, to fit in with uefa's rules.

your theory doesnt work, because rich men are rich men for a reason, they run succesfull business.

We didn't try to stop him & giving him the general managers job was as bad as sacking him & he was allowed to go so i'd say we let him go

Not really sure what their religion has to do with this. Are Christians, Jews, Hindus etc different?

yes but football is not like normal business is it, of course they will try to increse income but i wouldn't be surprised if the owners main objective wasn't on the clubs brand image or his own image, why else would you buy a football club, because you don't buy one to make money.
