We didn't look better because Savinho went off. He was our best player when on the pitch. He looked fast, sharp and was beating the full back with ease. He was also working hard to get back. We looked better because Gvardiol and Rodri came on. It had absolutely nothing to do with Savinho going off.
He should have taken at least one of the chances he had. But, I thought he played well and the amount of stick he gets is totally unwarranted.

Players like Savio are the perfect examples as to why a team struggles to dominate. He will never make it here. Semenyo can’t come soon enough. TJ might be poor but he’s the only player that runs off the ball and who can see his runs and acc pass him the ball ? CHERKI. If Foden can’t do anything then bring on Rico because he has a good relationship with everyone especially Haaland. There’s small tweaks that can make a chain reaction.


All hope is not lost. But this was a significant setback.

“This loss” Lucky we got a point out of the loss
 
I bloody loved that match, if not the final outcome.
Credit to Sunderland - physical, tactical, committed, and played to win in a dogged and fair fashion. Well done to the referee too who kept the game moving and was fair throughout.
We moved it too slowly in the first-half but much better in the second.
I never stopped believing we would win, but we just couldn't stick it away.
On we go, with plenty of twists and turns to come.

Meh tough game that. Had enough chances. Great to see Rodri back and playing well. Nunes really good as was Donna. Ake did ok. Haarland bossed out of it for a change but we didn’t seem to have enough in the box to use space from the fact he had two or three on him. Gvardiol was really good and my motm even though not on for long.

Just another one of those games where we look preposterous once the opposition hits certain intensity levels, and they have missed 8 players tonight.

We are waiting here for some epic Ars meltdown even they are not capable of, otherwise this was never a title race.

What they were hitting were our players.
 
Great to see Rodri back. Doku too but that is 2 points dropped for me. We were desperately poor first half which really helped them grow into the match. Much better second half but we can’t afford to throw away chances like we did tonight.

Ironically Bernardo’s messing with their keeper from a corner cost him a goal. He had no need to be offside there.

Haaland had probably his worst ever performance for us. He was never seemed up for the fight. Foden was poor. Savinho did well until it mattered and he needed to take his chances.

Leeds destroyed Cirkin last weekend but we never stretched him. Should have had Savinho or Doku running at him.

Referee was really poor, he made clear anything goes so it allowed them to go really aggressively into challenges. Cost us an injury to Nico. We adapted 2nd half but one foul on Rodri he ignored was laughable. 4 minutes injury time was a joke considering the stoppages 2nd half.

Sensational is a winner or a hat trick.

He did what he does, look like something might happen, but invariably never does.

I’d have started him mind.
 
Sunderland were awful couple days ago.

The big dog rocks up and it’s pantomime season with var/refs and whining fans.

Still you can’t be bitter, their players did really well and got the rub. Fair fucks to that.

Sky production tho…
