I do agree with the last part. At times we are guilty of putting in too many passes in and around the opposition box and against a resolute defence like tonight we really need to take half chances when presented to us. Maybe then we could have some luck with a deflection, a handball given.We really do need to start shooting from distance a bit more when we come up against aggressive teams who like to pack their own box .... trying to walk the ball into the net is very difficult in those circumstances, and a long shot could easily benefit from a 'wicked deflection'.

Nico OR got a knock and played on, as did Ake, both played fine, and Nunes was one of our best players. Dias was the best defender, but they all played well, and Gvardiol who replaced NOR was our best attacking player, as well as defended well.
They had two tacticsSunderland are determined and gutsy though, and they've showed a lot more fight than the likes of Wolves have this season ..... Savinho and Haaland had clear chances, but aside from those opportunities Sunderland handled everything we could throw at them pretty well tonight.
I get what your saying but they were brilliantly set up and coached. That first half they just didnt let our back 4 or midfield settle and won alot of duels. We couldnt find our rhythm. I knew they couldnt keep that up but while they didnt go forward as much they defended for their lives and we just couldn't come up with a goal. I've never seen so many players packed in such a small area. How do you get through that? You're right though stepping back and looking at it they lacked creativity but they made it up with guts and determination plus a home crowd that lifted them to a different level.Shocking two points to drop against probably the most limited team in the premier league

Both keepers had good games.
Both teams could of won it.
Not all 0-0 are boring and great to see Rodri improve things straight away.
