I the absence of Silva, his role would have been to create, dictate and cause panic in their defence, he did didn't do enough of that tonight. All he did was play it safe. Yes he scored and should have got a third, but that completely disguises what was a poor performance from Nasri. First half he did not complete, fuck it, he didn't even attempt one meaningful pass, just played it safe every time.
That's not the type of player he is. That's like when Aguero gets injured expecting donkey Dzeko to do the same? The only comparison between Silva and Nasri is they both possesses great ball control and maintain possession of the ball (rarely giving it away)

What is his job then? To just hold onto the ball, or should he create or at least attempt to create a bit more. He played it safe all night mate bar those last ten minutes when we were a goal down. My expectations clearly are different to yours, but the position he plays, and we know he can do it, I expect a bit more and he did not deliver, a bit like at Anfield on Sunday when he was taking off.
Oh come of it, you are telling me he never creates? You are fooling yourself. Most of Citys best passages of play this year have been between him and Silva. I bet Silva would defend Nasri and laugh at most of these comments. He's not who you should be blaming tonight, believe me.

Tonight he did not create or take charge, I did not say never did he do these things. So we have established he can do it, is that right? But tonight he simply did not. I think a poster referred to him as the "cherry on the cake" and you agreed. I want more form this expensive cherry on the cake.

Sunderland is our new bogey team. Just like Everton used to be...

Is it REALLY over?

We win all our remaining games

Lpool 4 games and could still drop points in 2 games.

Posted this in the Pelle thread;

I know I post a lot of shit. However, this is not a knee jerk reaction. I'm very calm right now. We have bought very badly. We have the highest wage bill in world sport.

I wanted Mancini gone. However, it is now conclusive that Pellegrini is no tactician. All he does is play the same style of football every week. No plan B. No plan to stop the opposition. Just sheer arrogance that we can be mini-Barcelona, let me tell you we are a shell of Barcelona. Why? Because Iniesta and Xavi actually give a shit about their club. He stands there like a plank of wood regardless of the result. Never changes the formation, just the personnel.

We turn up week in week out like we are fucking drunk. Our players look shocked that a game of football is happening. No pressing. No aggression. No passion.

Hart is NO WHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS SOME THINK. I've never seen a keeper get beat at his near post so many times.

It's just funny. Seriously. Money can't buy passion because that is why teams like Wigan and Sunderland embarrass us time and time again. Because they want it more. After 4 years and 2 managers we still can't beat Sunderland and Stoke away. We seem to never learn our lesson.

I'm actually embarrassed to be a city fan tonight. The balance of the team is not right. We have way to many stars and not enough 'glue' players. Cahill, Terry, Azpic etc. Chelsea have a bedrock of solid performers. Aside from Fernandinho and Zaba all of our players have a howler in them. Even Liverpool have Henderson etc. Hard workers. We have a load of lazy fuckers robbing us blind.

Soriano promised that we would have a director of football approach and that the first team coach would be cycled every 2 seasons or so. Fuck managerial stability. This isn't 1980 any more. Sack him and hope Madrid sack Ancelotti at the end of the season.

Your embarrassed to be a city fan ??? Seriously. What because we might not win the league, not apexactly something to be embarrassed about, imagine being a fan of all the teams below us or of a team that never wins anything. I wonder how you would have coped when we were shit
Couldn't give a shit about winning the league. As I said I have a problem with our players looking and playing like a bunch of mercenaries who don't give a fuck. I coped quite well when we were shit because I didn't have the expectation to win anything. Now I do have the expectation to at least fucking out a shift in. Or is that too much to ask for £27m players like Dzeko? To actually bust a bollock. I'd take De Jong and Tevez battling for every ball and losing over the lazy fuckers currently robbing us blind.

I have to say that given the stop-start inconsistent season we've had, that maybe third or even fourth place is about right. Not that the title is lost yet, but given a mixture of various excuses and reasons, - not least the injuries to Aguero, Kompany, Nastasic and Jovetic, have meant that this team has never quite got settled or 'run-in'. Other challengers have had better luck with injuries.

That said, i think we all know the time has come to freshen things up a little, too many on the gravy train have become accustomed to the salary and having achieved the main objective - CL qualification and progression, which although is success, is not progression enough.

The summer is almost here, and this pre-season, i expect the club to to break up a good part of this squad, with most of the English contingent, either gone, or consigned to loans, and a few more hungrier, younger talents arriving.

I am an older blue, so for me, this season is still a success, but ultimately, i want to see a high quality, dynamic, and ambitious set of players; some on board have maybe lost that spark of ambition, and require a change of scenery, i won't name them, i think we know who they are.

Unfortunately we can't make too many changes for a number of reasons but I do agree the ones we bring in over the summer have to be hungry for success and be able to go the distance within a game and over the season.

Nice attractive football rarely wins titles , we need the grunt and passion that puts the opposition on the back foot for enough of the game to get the points required.

The skill and quality is their but the drive and passion and leadership isn't.

Its highly likely there is only premiership in this lot because the 44 year drought was it.

It will be an interesting summer no doubt.

Once again Nasri has proved he hasn't got it when it's needed , got no bottle when it's needed and he's no good without Silva What the hells happened to Negredo , the beast has become a pussy cat. Read today that we are the highest paid team in the world -----and what have we got for it the league cup ---why do they keep letting us down ???? Any one taking bets we'll have to fight for 4th place because on tonight's performance they've run out of steam, they've run out of ideas and they've run out games Totally gutted again

-- Wed Apr 16, 2014 9:35 pm --

Once again Nasri has proved he hasn't got it when it's needed , got no bottle when it's needed and he's no good without Silva What the hells happened to Negredo , the beast has become a pussy cat. I think a Summer clearout is in order. Get rid of the players who simply aren't good enough for a title-challenging team. The more I think about it, the more I think Nasri and Milner belong in that category
Every year a clearout!? Every year we should spend more money? If Mourinho can win a title with Terry in defence or Rodgers with Kolo Toure than we should easily win the league with our players.

Shocking post. Terry is miles better than every CB we have and that includes VInny who's had 1 good season.

don't know what to say, that was so bad. not the response any of us was expecting, an absolutely shit performance.

I thought we were going to take it to the end

Too many passengers tonight, milner and garcia were terrible, milner just tried to run the ball down the line and kept runnign out of play

shocking

Shocking performance, all in all have we really improved on last season were we at the least finished second,we could end up forth or fifth if we dont buck our ideas up..shocking just absolutely shocking....

Pelle should have put some sense of urgency in the first half, let alone most of the second half. He's just not a winner.

You'd think he's learned from the shocking defeats early in the season, but no, he chooses to sit on your a** and watch the team be complacent. Well done!

I feel sorry for sunderland they deserved all 3 points

I feel sorry for our supporters who deserve better

As for our players and management they know what they deserve......
I don't feel sorry for them

Keeps getting brought up by a couple people, then conveniently passed over in (rightfully) slating players and manager: by today's account, what makes you believe that our supporters deserve better?
Exactly. We have the worst home support in the league. We don't deserve the title over anyone.
