Sunderland post match thread

Thought Sterling was excellent again. Disappointed Hart was dropped. Interested to see the full backs playing in defensive midfield. Delph still crap.
That's a bit better. Agree with Sterling, expected the Hart scenario and as the season progresses the full backs will take to their roles a lot more comfortably than what we saw today. Don't think Delph did much to warrant too much criticism though there were a couple of occasions where he had the opportunity to overlap Sterling and give him an option and failed to do so.

Asking Clichy and Sagna to do the things that Alaba and Lahm did for him at Bayern might be a stretch. Surely Zabaleta would be more comfortable than Sagna seeing so much of the ball in central positions?

Probably for the best that we played a well-organized, disciplined team that we struggled to breakdown as our first game, it's a good insight into how a lot of teams will set up to frustrate us and Pep will be busy devising ways to break down teams that play so defensively against us.

Buzzing for him today. :-)
Did he get boo'd by the Sunderland fans? Bar I watched it in was full of Irish rags going on and on so didn't hear the TV.
I did hear some boo's once and then they gave up,he is going to be very good to watch this season,i am really pleased for him
