Sunderland Post Match

Pep will most probably work on that, more than Manuel. All this if x player doesn't do this and that, they'll be out...
Don't you think he will work on things with the players first, before making knee jerk decisions.

I do.

Of course I'd do, I never said I didn't.

He'll work on it with Joe and if he can't adapt he'll be out, simple as that.

Awful. Decision to take off Nacho basically meant that we were likely to spend the next 45 minutes defending. Totally handed them the initiative with that substitution. Back four were good and Hart made two great stops. Nacho was bright and was easily one of the better attacking performers. Entire midfield was shocking. Unfair to single out Yaya, but also very easy to do so because he is the one who does the very visual things, such as try a forward/incisive pass or a forward run with the ball. He's quite clearly judged differently to everyone else on here and i'm unsure why because he was no more expensive than anyone else. Fernandinho was again anonymous when we had the ball. Fernando didn't help us solve any of the problems Sunderland caused us. Silva had some good touches but constantly ran out of steam with the ball. He was also wasteful and awful out of possession. Navas did nothing other than track back and pull his hamstring.

Overall, very poor but a good 3 points considering Arsenal dropped two.
Yep, that sub actually made things worse in the 2nd half, especially given our inability to keep possession, just about the worst passing display I've seen from City for a couple of years.

Big Fat Sam as gracious as ever the ****.

Cant you tell he is a mate of the pisscan?

lol king leonidis of Sparta!

Solid defending, Vinny back soon, another clean sheet, an away win at Sunderland, scrappy, tetchy, not pretty, they tried to get under our skin, but we held solid. 3points

Worst performance of the season.. but 3 points, Arsenal dropped 2 and we play Leicester early Saturday.

Defending was solid when needed most.

As much as Joe pulled off a couple of great saves, he really needs to work on that distribution, It's absolutely shocking. It's always putting us under pressure and that was the last thing we needed with Sunderland's harrying tonight.

He'll have to majorly improve on that in the next twelve months because I don't see Guardiola accepting it. Fundamental to the way his sides play.

There isn't a goalkeeper in any other top 6 side who's as poor with the ball at his feet as Joe is. Honestly think Pep would sooner have an inferior shot stopper for a vast improvement in distribution/intelligence on when to play it,and assurance playing it out from the back.

Great 3 points though, really hard fought battling performance. Just a real kick in the bollocks we've picked up another injury.
What the fucking fuck,he saved us 3pts

One of those games where you take the 3 points and move on. I half expected a game like that against fatty's cloggers. Attwell was a fucking disgrace as well.

got the feeling we was running on empty tonight in the 2nd half but the ref was shocking and sunderland was just kicking us all over the park and city did well to hold it back and I think that was BFS setup from the start to unsettle us and try and make 1 of the city players fight back so the ref could send him off . defoe was dirty with a couple of arms in the face and he new what he was doing and the 2nd 1 you could see him looking at the player shocking

but you take the 3 points and moves on but where have sunderland got that from they show some fight and guts and its every time Manchester city roll up they look a midtable team but I bet you they roll over next game and get a thumping I hope so anyway dirty cunts
I thought Sunderland would be very physical tonight. They knew we had 3 games in 7 days and they were rested so it made sense from their point if view.

The all important thing was winning. Arsenal will be gutted when they heard our result

A win is a win but that was utter wank

Have we ever passed the ball so badly in the last 6 years? Just kept putting ourselves under pressure.

We're lucky we were playing Sunderland. If we're as bad on Saturday we'll get ripped apart

Hart, Otamendi and Demichelis only ones above a 6

A lack of fitness or not, everything Silva touches at present turns to mush.

He is gifting cheap possession and has become something of a liability, if there can be such a thing when it comes to my favourite ever City player.

Time to start talking Leicester up as title contenders, had a free ride until now when it comes to playing without pressure.

They will find out what it's all about this Saturday.
