Sunderland Post Match

It is going to be close if we show the fight we did tonight . Yes it wasn't pretty but who cares ? Show that fight against Leicester and we will win.

Agreed. Proud of every one of em tonight.

Weren't intimidated by 'fat sam's' usual (deliberate) bully boy tactics, but gave as good as we got, and eventually came out of the 'battle' victorious.

I'm sorry if that isn't good enough for some 'City fans' on here, but it's very difficult to play football, on the ground, when you're perpetually being launched about 5 feet into the air, for the entire 95 minutes. by vertue of your opponent's boots or elbows.

Very happy with the result
Not entirely convincing but i,ll take it, playing relegation contenders at this time of the season is never easy

We looked knackered having played two games in the last six days.
They looked fresh having played none.
Great result in the circumstances.

Agree with this, with a few new signings making their debuts they showed a lot more energy than us. Thought we were too lax in midfield and gave away the ball far too often, although we've played a lot better here and lost, so one to chalk down to result being more important than overall performance.

I shuddered a few times at the tackles that the Sunderland players were dishing out - how many injuries have we picked up from that battle?

It was always going to get physical with Allardyce sensing City would be tired. he'll have sent them out with instructions to be very physically competitive but we didn't play well. We should have been better in possession regardless of what Sunderland did

Great result. Very tough game. They were made to battle & did so. So what if Sunderland physically battered us, + had much the better chances - we won a dirty scruffy game, thanks to crucial contributions from Aguero & Hart in particular.
That's a great 3 points from what has been a graveyard for us too often in the past. 4 days to recover now, & Leicester have to travel, so, roll on Saturday. It'll be a great occasion.
To the moaners - same again on Saturday& we'll be top of the league! Bring it on!!

I've only just got in and have match choice recorded. Having read the first three and last few pages of this thread should I just delete it or it it worth a watch?

One of em tried to 'do Aguero early on by scraping their studs down his shin (thankfully he didn't succeed)

DeMichelis was holding his jaw throughout, after that disgraceful Defoe elbow. Looked like it was broken

Navas out for at least four weeks with a hamstring
