Sunderland Vs City Post match Discussion Thread

I am in shock, I cannot believe we let 3rd place slip like that after Everton drew and Spurs lost.

1. Pelle kept his better players on the bench and paid the price, fourth time this season! He still take teams lightly.
2. Pelle didn't get off his arse and urged the plyers. Better than shaking his head so hopelessly on the bench.
3. Pelle relied heavily on Navas crossing in. I've not seen Navas effective since we bought him.
3. Kolarov has not been on form recently.
4. The usual below average performance from Lescott, Garcia, Richards (recently) and Milner.
one by one each player is getting worse under this clown.

not sure how anyone can call kolarov, this season he has been by a mile the best left back, even today in not one of his better games he put in a great cross for aguero and had a good shot on goal, more then clichy would do going forward in the whole season.

Was hoping for inspiration today until I saw the team sheet. It's sad that with our team, money spent and expectation that we find ourselves in 8th and having lost so many games at this stage of the season. I wish I could say I'm enjoying the season but I can't

-- Sun Nov 10, 2013 6:32 pm --

Fear not.....at least he knows why we are losing every away match
"The Premier League is very close and there are six or seven teams trying to win the title and there are lots of games to play - we are playing well away from home but perhaps we just need a little bit more luck."

We don't need luck, we just need to have more than 4 out of 24 attempts hit the large goal frame.
Only we could turn a two horse race into a six horse race ;)

Very disappointing. Thought we really missed Fernandinho. The front two struggled. Didn't like Pellegrini's team selection. Sunderland defended manfully and we just didn't get a ball dropping in our favour in the box.

With the other results doesn't change much in terms of the title race.

Maybe - but we are now behind the scum - makes this limp display even more annoying

We will nothing in the league until Pellegrini totally changes his approach. His record is shocking that is 9 out of 10 defeats away from home on the spin with City and Malaga. He has no idea how to set the team up to avoid embarrassment and did it again today. The only difference is that we failed to take the lead first. No tactical nous, no ability to inlfuence the game off the bench and when it was crying out to change the formation he brings on like for like and leaves it at 4-4-2. Totally clueless. Given some of our spineless away performances he could have reorganised and gone with 4-5-1- or even 4-4-1-1 today. Only an eternal optimist would seriously believe this City team under Pellegrini is capable of mounting a challenge for the title especially this year

The camera shot of him at 70 mins sat in his seat looking down and shaking his head had me worried. Could he have not made more attempt to affect the game with a tactical switch rather than looking glum-faced and resigned to defeat ?

how a win makes a difference between 3rd and 8th....

really need to wake up from this slumber...its still not over.....with arsenal loosing and it all being very tight

but really need to get a grip !!

just been on bbc sport website to check latest scores - and the table does not make happy reading at the minute

6 points off the top with 27 games to go, stop being a drama queen.

I mean after all the gloating and ridicule aimed at the scum - it is now us back down in 8th at this moment in timeso why is that being a drama queen - maybe you should have read the original post

I'm f**ked off, we were W*NK.

Manager totally to blame for changing 4 out of 5 of the defensive players (again), and playing 5 subs at once. We were clueless in the final third, (no blame on Sergio who tried) average in midfield, and the defence jittery.

Play your best available 11 Manuel, this is not La Liga ! And stop tinkering with the back 4/5, yes I know there are injuries, but don't change those that are not injured, best available 11, its quite simple. Micah in particular does my head in, only interested in attacking, makes a poor challenge, then stands watching Milner try to catch Bardsley, when he should have been busting a gut to get back in position, he does it time and again.

We weren't unlucky boss, just w*nk again, and you started it by picking a sub standard team.

What a shithouse of a day. No urgency in the first half tactics wrong. Ref Dean was a fucking homer. Dominated the 2nd half and just didn't get the breaks. Oh, and I hate that lanky piece of shit Quinn with a passion.

Ruined weekend.
