Sunderland Vs City Post Match Thread

I must admit, when Sunderland scored, and the manner of their goal, I thought, "Here we go again", but give the lads their due, the got back level very quickly and then went on to control the rest of the game.

Excellent performance and great three points.

Sergio keeps on scoring and Stevan is improving with every game.

We're definitely getting back to our best. The team play tonight was exceptional.

Fernandinho was top drawer again. Looks like the world class midfield player we had most of last season.

Next up Everton. Potential banana skin. But if we play like we've played the last week or so we'll go into Rome flying high.

Missed most of the first half due to internet problem. Was just in time to see Jovetic goal. We certainly bossed it from that point; in fact it looked like a bit of a piss take.

Haven't checked but I assume there was plenty of misplaced pre-match moaning about Pellegrini's team selection.

Pleased for Cedric that he acquitted himself well.

Fantastic ball retention by Fern, Yaya and Nasri.

Aguero is simply sensational at the moment.

Nasir's finding form, finding confidence, I guess they're all doing that. But it's nice to see things coming off for him. He gets enough stick from our know nowt mates :)

Bayern win done us wonders.

The football was brilliant and the work rate/pressure has gone up a notch recently, vital really.

performance like champions.

brilliant all round.

but I am still concerned that Sami can't find his true form. he played ok but he seems to be missing a little something. that spark. confidence perhaps.

fbloke kept saying on Twitter that Aguero was injured, what's that all about? He seemed OK. But either way, hopefully Edin is back soon to play some of the mid-weeks. He had been rotten before his injury, but think he would step up like the rest of the team has and score some.

Just a word on Nasri's assist for zabbas lovely goal.

Fucking sublime.

Okay, that was two. But here's the thing. What opened up the angle for the assist was Nasri's speed of thought and swiftness of foot to move the ball 12 inches and deliver it on a plate to Zaba before the Sunderland player had even begun to realise what he was going to do. That david Threlfall poem refers to "swift of thought and fleet of foot" and that from Nasri and Zabba was fucking excellent. Without the adjustment the angle to make the pass wasn't there. Without the swiftness of thought the timing of Zabbas run would have been way off. Spotting the pass and getting the ball in the position to make the pass? Just gorgeous.

Moments like that make you realise. How lucky we are to have this unbelievably talented group playing for our team.
