Sunderland Vs City Post Match Thread

That was my favourite away for a while. Great performance & second half was buzzing at the back of the away stand.

Not sure if mentioned, can't be bothered to read every page

Sunderland fans claim racist chanting from the game

Racist chanting at the back of the South Stand

Chanting shite about Allah and the Quran for about 15 minutes. Stewards went up done nowt for a few minutes so one of our fans ended up piling in to them.

No place for owt like that.

We're definitely getting back to our best. The team play tonight was exceptional.

Fernandinho was top drawer again. Looks like the world class midfield player we had most of last season.

Next up Everton. Potential banana skin. But if we play like we've played the last week or so we'll go into Rome flying high.

Missed most of the first half due to internet problem. Was just in time to see Jovetic goal. We certainly bossed it from that point; in fact it looked like a bit of a piss take.

Haven't checked but I assume there was plenty of misplaced pre-match moaning about Pellegrini's team selection.

Pleased for Cedric that he acquitted himself well.

Fantastic ball retention by Fern, Yaya and Nasri.

Aguero is simply sensational at the moment.

Nasir's finding form, finding confidence, I guess they're all doing that. But it's nice to see things coming off for him. He gets enough stick from our know nowt mates :)

Nasri's form has come with fitness. His assist tonight was very nifty.

A champions performance tonight. I'm not sure whether Pellegrini was forced into it because of Dzeko's injury or whether he decided to switch to more of a 4-5-1 recently but it's worked. We look similar to last season's level in terms of dominating games, passing and moving, and creating chances. Please stick with it when we're back to full fitness.

Nobody had a bad game tonight. Kun was on fire as usual. Navas seemed a bit more willing to run, still not what we need from him but much better than recently. Nasri was very good tonight, much more willing to look for a forward pass, just need him to take people on at bit more though. Toure was very good in the middle, dictated the play and actually helped when we lost the ball. I think his improvement can be attributed to Fernandinho's return to both the starting lineup and form. Boyata wasn't really put under any pressure all night because we were that dominant but he did well enough with MDM seeing him through. Clichy has some new found confidence and looks a top class fullback, it's key to our play that he ventures forward more so that we don't concentrate all of our play down the right hand side.

Was that our best performance of the season? I think so.

Even in slow motion Kun's first goal travelled at an unbelievable speed. And he's got three assists in the last two games.

Have we found the key to unlock the packed defences? Some of the runs into the box and flicks and passes were top class - just look at Zabba's goal as an example.

Unreal performance that. I was in a box and the sunderland fsns clapped sergio off when he was subbed, they were stunned by the posession football and i cant recall seeing 4 goals as good ss that...that second goal!! Wow.

I didn't notice it at the time as we were too busy jumping around second half, but went for a pint after the match & got chattting to some Makems & they said they gave Sergio a standing ovation as he was that good. They also said they had no gripes about the result as they were outclassed & they also said City were the best team they have seen at their place this season.
