Not the same as racist chanting, but I was disappointed to hear the M****h song from some of our fans.

Other than that, it was a pleasant day out, especially as I haven't seen City win many games away over the decades in the league.

Plus, they are a friendly lot up there.

Heard the Munich chant as well. It's only a minority but still very disappointing to hear.

Hope this was not the case. Thought such chanting how now stopped.

If nothing else have such people never heard of Frank Swift and not know he perished in that tragedy also ?

As for racist chanting also, Sunderland just need to try and ID anyone and ban them for life and apologise to Toure or anyone it was aimed at, as City should ban anyone ID'd chanting about Munich and apologise to Utd.

Come on City supporters we are better than that.

definately not stopped

heard it for 15/20 seconds before another chant started to drown it out

Well, he did have 4 saves to make, but just didn't make any of them cos the shots were too good.....but yeah, I know what you mean....we could do with having more attempts sometimes.

Overall though, we were absolutely sublime last night :)

i think its no coincidence that i have only managed to stream 3 of city's matches this season, and they just happen to be City's last 3 matches!

Obviously my shouting and directing the players around the pitch is working wonders. I maybe City's lucky charm this season! (trouble is, due to work shifts i cant stream every game) :-(

I thought we were a bit slow out of the blocks. The energy levels looked down compared to Southampton. When they scored I feared a 5th successive defeat. But their goal sparked us into life. After the equaliser it was our best performance of the season.

Aguero was magnificent but there were also excellent performances from Navas and Nasri.

Sunderland fans claim racist chanting from the game

Racist chanting at the back of the South Stand

Chanting shite about Allah and the Quran for about 15 minutes. Stewards went up done nowt for a few minutes so one of our fans ended up piling in to them.

No place for owt like that.
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/racist-chanting-at-the-back-of-the-south-stand.1001525/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/ra ... d.1001525/</a>

Sounds like the decent mackems got it sorted out?

Wankers that started it, no place in sport for that shite.
What an excellent forum that is, just spent half hour reading through it, mostly level headed good supporters who don't pull any punches, compare Sunderlands forum with rag café or the Newcastle one both full of deluded warped individuals with a sense of their own misguided self importance
Well done Mackems for having the knowledge to applaud the best striker in the league Sergio off the pitch, they know and appreciate class when they see it, great supporters

Was very impressed by the hordes of stewards who ran onto the pitch to make sure this guy didn't have any bad intentions. Ridiculous. He casually strolled off the pitch and slowly stepped over the advertising boards before a single steward even thought about getting off his arse.

Anyway, absolutely loved the game, my first in person this season. Excellent performances across the pitch, and a really good team display too. Sunderland could hardly get near us, and - for once - even when the first goal went in, it looked like we would still win.... what's more, it looked like the team knew we would still win, and even more amazingly, so did the fans...hardly any criticism and straight back into spurring the team on.

Some quotes from Sunderland fans I know up here: "Men against boys", "Sergio's the best player I have seen at SoL", "Much better than Chelsea"

Back to our best, fantastic performance and even better when you factor in the absence of Silva and Kompany. Most of the plaudits will rightly go to Aguero, but spare a thought for the much maligned Samir Nasri who was again excellent. He may not appeal to the cheap seats, but he's greatly appreciated by those who know the game ;).

My 1st City game last night and it was well worth the wait. Team were class especially Sergio and Nasri. Was sat in the Sunderland end and our supporters outsung theirs , wish i'd been up there with them. Nearly forgot where i was when the 1st goal went in and jumped up to celebrate until my missus stopped me. Would have been worth the black eye lol.

No coincidence that the results have come with Nasri getting back into form and fitness.

Yes, he keeps possession, slows the play down and rolls 10 yard passed around. That's the point!

I've noticed Samir is now 10 yards in front of Toure [who mostly does the same thing] with Dinho running around mopping up. That's a good central core. Add in Silva coming in from a wing, maybe rotating Navas, Jov and Dzeko, with Kun as the spearhead.

Defence was decent. I also saw MDM directing traffic and Deds picking up the man, hence his booking on a stretch. Looks like a man now and is not far off Yaya in size. Saw them stood in a wall next to each other and they looked like a mighty pair. Full backs were highly efficient and Hart seems ever more confident.

Overall, I am starting to see the squad maturing. Even Yaya has lost some of the histrionics and [just saying, like] the captain's armband seems to fit him well.

Good luck to any players trying to get back into this team! I can even see Silva starting on the bench.

Anyway, we need to go for the jugular on Saturday and the game could be done and dusted first half, which would help resting and rotation for Rome. All good at the moment and so keep it up, lads. CTID.
