Sunderland Vs City Post Match Thread

Great win at tough ground. 4 wins in a row against tough opposition - we're back to our best.

Fernandinho and Nasri coming back into the team have made a big difference, they've been excellent.

Yaya just had a slow start it seems, he's been really good the last few weeks.

Fair play to Boyata last night, he came in last night having barely played this season and at a tough ground and did well.

Aguero is head and shoulders above anybody else in this league.

6 points behind Chelsea in December is nothing, I fancy us to win the league. I still think we're the best team in this league.

Not a big Navas fan usually but he worked his socks off last night and put in some sublime crosses in early doors. Not a bad player on the pitch last night, special mention to Clichy, Boyata, MDM and of course the sublime Sergio.
The Munich song lasted about 10 secs and there was plenty of shouts of "shut up you knobs" going around when it was sung..

The whole team excellent as others have pointed out. Good show from Nasri, Navas and Boyota who often get hammered on here. And what about Clichy? He's a different person from a few weeks back, strutting with confidence and turning into a real weapon on our left side. Excellent post match interview with Zab as well. He is actually talking about stuff instead of the endless stream of platitudes we normally get.

Before the season started we were all happy with the additions and the squad we had,two top players for every position and a core group who knew what it took to win this league. For whatever reason it just wasn't working early doors,a world cup hangover,a few players off form, who knows but we weren't clicking.

Now we are firing on all cylinders and long may it continue!

Exactly!

We shouldn't denigrate the magnificent singing support we had up in the heavens last night. I was hoarse for the 3 hour drive home. Out sung the Mackems by a long stretch. Best song of the night, though, was when Zaba scored and the "Pablo Zabaleta, He is a fucking man..." song almost lifted the roof off the place! Zaba loved it too, as he clapped us and gave us the "louder, louder" hand wave! You could see that the goal and the celebration meant a lot to him.

Watching Sergio's first goal live was amazing. First, you were excited by the run and nutmeg, but the shot......well, you will not see a shot hit harder than that from the edge of the box for a long, long time! Lifted the frame of the net about two feet in the air and Sergio absolutely loved it....ran to the fans to soak up the adulation.

To be honest, I'm not sure if my first reaction was a gasp or a cheer?!

Anyway, great night in Sunderland. Congrats to all the fans, the singing was fantastic. Towards the end of the game, we were singing songs for everyone, because everyone was having such a good game and we had most of the stadium to ourself!!

When we got back, watched the goals again on MOTD. Was also interesting to see the next run of games.....should be another 18 points there if we play anything like we did last night. If we add a win against Roma to that run, could be a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

I'm still hoarse after last night. I thought the atmosphere was fantasic in our end last night. Wasn't that hard to out sing Sunderland, there were none left in the ground towards the end of the game!

Unfortunately we always seem to get a few on here who can't wait to point out anything negative about our fans & ingnore any positives.

I think it was on Sky where the commentator said "Have you ever seen a ground empty so quickly?" about the crowd leaving before the end. I thought to myself "Funnily enough, I have..."

Really? When was that ;)

I seem to remember a fire alarm going off at Old Trafford in 2011.

Not to mention the Wembley semi final.
