From the outside I thought that too, but Then I saw George Evans interview, which spoke volumes about how he felt about it.

We will see more of these players, especially if we get a home tie next. Something which might not have been possible should we have lost. Sunderland are no mugs, as they showed early in the game. Our big guns took them apart but look at games like newcastle and Middlesbrough last year, and wigan the year before. A couple of goals down early on and the game is a totally different beast. One or two debutants could have been directly responsible for that.

Based on Navas being useless in the couple games preceding and on the basis that it was an early round cup match and the perfect opportunity to start at least Roberts if not a few of the youth players.

Yep. That Newcastle result last season pissed me off as much as any other last season. Boro, the whole club were to blame for that shambles

Regards youth which seems to have come up, three players got on the pitch and thats more than good enough for me. Pellers has so far this season done fairly well by our youth players and I hope we see it continue with Nacho getting more time in the PL as the season progresses but a lot of this negativity is well founded to be honest, before this season we were awful, no better than Chelsea but signs are actually there that things are going to be different now. Yes, I'd like to see them more and yes I think they in certain situations can contribute more than our seasoned pro's however it's a process that takes time, it's just finally it looks like that process is actually happening! Good times and looking forward to more.
