Fairly unbelievable they played their full strength side tonight, I guess they won so it paid off, but even if we play the same team, they've got a days recovery over sunderland. No excuses if we lose this one lol. No jinx.

Wouldn't change a thing from Tuesday night. Unleash the beast! 3-1 City.

Rotation is key now. Most successful managers believe this without any doubt. Ferguson, Benitez, mourinho etc. We have a large number of games coming up. No need to burn out players. And with the squad we have, there isn't a large drop on quality anyway rotating some players out

Well, it's the international break after this weekend and let's be honest, it'll be a glorified 2 week holiday for many of our players with only Nasri and Clichy (WC playoff against Portugal) in a match of great importance. Others will be in friendlies if even called up.

Pity Costel couldn't have made his first team breakthrough a few weeks ago, he'd probably be in the Romanian squad now.

___________Pantilimon

Richards_Demichelis_Nastasic_Kolarov

________Yaya__Fernandinho

Navas________Aguero______Silva/Nasri

____________Negredo

Hopefully Jovetic and Rodwell can make the bench

Play our best XI and go for the jugular. Rotation can come later on.

On paper, City romps away with this one. But we have found very strange ways of losing away games. 3 of our back 4 (barring the Right Back) scare me. In particular, Clichy looks really off - slow and making bad decisions. Lucky the international break will give Kompany an extra rest and hopefully he is 100% for the Spurs game.

Ha. they managed to beat Soton

Soton did put out a very weak team though.

Would give Vinny a bit more time to recover and save him for the Spuds game as long as he doesnt report to Belgium for their 2 friendlies after being out injured with us for 4 weeks should be fine.

sunderland will be up for it but we should have too much for them.

Full strength side, no tinkering about or giving people 'game time'. This is the most important game of the season and we'll win if we don't start messing about with the line up.

Yeah, but every game is the most important game of the season! Agree with not too much tinkering. We were shocking against Newcastle with Milner Rodwell and Garcia.

Keep a strong midfield. Make changes at CF and FB is needed. Dzeko will still get you goals and and Kolarov and Richards for Zab and Clichy are the least risky other changes.

Reports say he won't report and spend time getting back to full fitness.

There's a huge drop in quality, what do the want rest players for, the internationals.Full strength team lets not piss about.

City to win 2-0. 0-0 at half time.

After throwing away two wins and a draw in three of our five away matches this season surely it is time for a bit of normality.

Rotation is key when you have nailed mentality, philosophy and consistency. We haven't. We need the same side to play, they are on form and they have an International break. Win this and it puts us in a good position for the break and we can push on and rotate following the Internationals.

I can't see the same side playing 3 times in one week.

I wouldn't tinker but I can see changes, I just hope Manuel doesn't go mad and put an almost different team in because it wouldn't surprise me if he changed both fullbacks, put Milner in for Fernandinho, Navas for Silva and Dzeko for Negredo.

Hopefully he will keep the rotation minimal though.

I do worry this game is destined to become one of those PL shocks of the season and that it's written in the stars that this is the game that gets Sunderland's seasons kicked off.

Must admit I got my grumpy head on last night when I saw they were beating Southampton thinking "no, they can't be hitting their annual 5 game run of form right before they play us again"
then I saw the Southampton team.

We should have too much fire-power with our strikers on form. Even when they've beat us at theirs, they've usually only scored a single goal. It's been our failure to score that has lost us the points in recent trips to the Stadium of Light.
