superbia package-major flaw

You only get invited into the scheme if you've got a substantial amount of loyalty points. That means that in all likelyhood, they will be have been following City everywhere for a very long time (not your 'wealthy JCL' which most people on this thread seem to think). The fact that the club has given them the option to pay upfront and guarantee a ticket for themselves is a good idea IMO. After all, it is just an option. And I'm sorry, but if one of my mates who had paid £2500 upfront got a ticket for Blackpool away instead of me, I'd have no qualms.

If the club can find people who are willing to pay upfront for a ticket, as opposed to people who will pick and choose which games they can make, then of course they are going to want the guaranteed money. What the hell are people expecting?

reward for following city steadfastly since loyalty points were introduced to reward loyalty.

the notion that these tickets are for the select few, is pure fantasy, sure they get first dibs, but when it emerges that many simply cannot afford it in one hit, the baton will be passed down the loyalty points chain (see platinum criteria and the bit about the waiting list).

considering the club are moving the goalposts and are offering 2000 points for a full seasons attendance, then it is only fair they go back through their data and anyone with full seasons in the past in also awarded 2000 points for that season, because they have also paid their money, without this reward.

This would work at Manchester United. We are Manchester City, it's about time the people in charged remembered that, it will take years and years before we even get close to making these ridiculous ideas work.

they may attract some wealthier fans with this, but sure as shit they have pissed off some very dedicated fans with this aswell, the ones who turn up at villa away when there were only 900 blues there because we had nothing to play for.

if i get alienated by the club for the low allocation games, despite always having enough points up till now, i will alienate myself away from the games where they are begging for our attendance.

loyalty is a 2 way thing, we remained loyal when the team was absolutely dogshit, to reward that loyalty by giving status to wealthier fans whom havnt earnt the right is very very poor.

This,in a nutshell.
It is an unfair,ill-conceived idea of a scheme that should have been strangled at birth.
Hopefully enough folk with both money and common sense will give it a wide berth, and it is scrapped.

That's fucking great, if you have the cash, you can get what you want
fuck anyone else, I'm wadded.
A few years ago they were advertising HP schemes, how times have changed.

It's probably 500-1000 overpriced to be tempting I'd imagine.

£1600 becomes a much more sensible figure when you consider basically 38 league games @ £40 is 1520 plus all the add ons.

I think people are really under estimating what the cost of away games will be next season.

1. We will be top grade at places like Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and United, These alone will be £50,£60,£50 and £55 next season.

2. The also runs will also be increasing the cost as we become a star attraction, I cannot imagine any away game will be less than £35 never mind average. Note we will be charging away fans at COM around £50 next year

3. Aways in champs league can cost the earth especially Man U, Real Madrid and Barca expecting ave of £35 is a joke, You have never been for sure.

4. Based on this years champs lge IF we got to the final you would get a top ticket, at Wembley this year they are £375 and cheapest final tickets in the back 8 rows are £150 so lets get real, Champs lge success would be VERY expensive paying match by match, then you see how we may get value for £2500 for season.

IF we get an away draw to somewhere like Midgetland, can you imagine the atmosphere if all the tickets go to people who can afford to cough up £2.5k each... pass the strawberries and pink Champagne Caruthers... never mind the prawn sandwich!

in fairness i know some fantastic city fans who will probably have the superbia package and they have earnt their loyalty points the hard way, but for those of us who have earnt them in the exact same fashion but cannot afford superbia, it's looking like curtains for us in the near future for the small away allocations.

600 superbia members, and 600 midgetlland tickets, do the maths, there will be nothing for anyone else, even if you have virtually every loyalty point going.

basically thanks for spending thousands and thousands building up your loyalty points on the promise of a guarenteed ticket, but now we are on the up, you can do one, we want rich fans not loyal ones.

Surely it's worth £2500 just for a lovely black card?

...

And the right to wave it under the nose of your pleb mates !

Obviously, I won't be having one !

i did a quick estimate on how much someone would spend by taking up the platinum ST and joining all the schemes, as well as buying all domestic league away tickets.

i estimate you are looking at around £3.5k to get the same deal as superbia on the platinum scheme

I can't get it beyond about £1,800- £1,900 at most for this season using rough estimates for aways and Cup ties.

£475 - S/card
£760 - 19 Prem aways at an average of around £40 per match
£200 - 10 Home Cup ties at average of £20 per match
£80 - 3 away domestic Cup ties
£150 - 6 away Europa ties at £25 per match
£200 - Wembley SF and Final (assuming Cat 1 seats for both)

£1,855 in total. Even allowing for a 10% increase for next season it's still only just over £2,000 and we may not get as many Cup ties. I doubt that the other "perks" add £500 in value.

You still need to add on friendlies as well.
This year - Charity Shield £50
Dublin £100
America x 3 £100
Germany friendly £30
1 home friendly £20

I also think that in the champs league they are going to be Cat 'A' prices at home £50 a game at a guess. I think around £2200 for a successful season so it's still short and I've asked the question what happens if we are well short, do you get some sort of refund vs the next season etc. Not heard back yet.
