We are not going backwards. We have a board that believes in our manager, something sven did not have i admit. They will hopefully give him the time to see his systems come to the fore. When this happens i will fogive you your impetuousness. if i'm totally wide of the mark you can slag me all you like. ;)

Why are we not going backwards?
If I'm not mistaken,We were better off points-wise than this time last season.

Explain?

Does one or two points or one or two weeks in a season make the difference for a long term solution to a 33 year drought?
You obviously feel you have the solution. lets hear it.

So you're happy being beaten by a team who haven't won for 10 games like Portsmouth?Or Brighton?Or Forest?Should I carry on?
What about a manager,having spent £100 million,who actually has a game plan?
What do you think about that?
Are you really content to carry on the way we are?

I have lots of ideas about the team, the same as many Blues-but I'm not paid £30 grand a week to share them on here.

Share them anyway.

We have lost to shit games all the time, a new manager isn't gonna come and change our results against bogey teams. The difference now is that people can't have a laugh about it and are so serious because they expect us to be fantastic overnight. The league is very unpredictable this year and no manager has really done any good has he? Fergie has at the scum, O'neill and maybe Moyes but they've all had longer that 12 months haven't they? Even experienced managers aint doing too well look at Wenger, but I doubt everybody's fans are calling for the managers heads, we need to accept that the leagues unpredictable this year and hope for a good position in the league. Then maybe next year with a good squad depth we can become predictable winners.

We should be making progress. We will support City evermore win, lose or draw, but given the circumstances and the unbelievable and enviable situation that we find ourselves in, we reserve the right to question what might be stifling the progress that we should now be seeing on the pitch.

That's not anti-Hughes (although clearly some blame for our shite away form has to be laid at his door). It's just City fans trying to put their finger on the problem. Good, sometimes flippin' great, at home. Shite away. I would back a really good manager to sort that type of problem out. I would hope that Hughes is that man. But if he aint I'm certainly not going to pretend that he is. This is the acid test for him.

End of the season is when I will judge as I have said all along. It has to be said that he is running out of games to make the positive impact that I hoped for.

I wish I had posted this.

A lot of fans have expected too much of the team since we got the money but whith or without the money I would expect us to be able to go to a team like Stoke or WBA. The fact that we didn't beat these teams tells me that Hughes is not good enough.

I will decide where I stand on Hughes at the end of the season but right now it is not looking good.

But it isn't one or two weeks in the season, it's at least half the bloody season so far - how many clueless inept performances do you sweep under the carpet before questioning the manager's ability? I was happy with Hughes's appointment but he's been exposed as a one-dimensional manager who only knows how to get results by using the intense pressing game with a target man up front that he used at Blackburn. That makes him a failure on two counts at least - firstly he's not been able to make 4-2-3-1 work with either the players he inherited or the players he's bought - and secondly he hasn't even brought in the players in January who might have enabled him to play his Blackburn-type tactics. That's without going into his almost total inability to change things around when we're losing and City's worst performance in the domestic Cups since the League Cup was introduced in 1961.

As for this "unrealistic expectations" bollocks, after he's spent over £100m I think it's perfectly realistic not to be satisfied with our dismal away form two-thirds of the way through the season - and that's the EASIER away games we're talking about. Take a look at our remaining away fixtures and pray that our home form doesn't go down the pan as well or we really will be in the shit.

AGREED!

And we won't get relegated we should be looking upwards and trying to get into europe because it can still happen. It only takes a few wins on the bounce to be right back in it?

Would you like to have a stab at predicting three games we could win on the bounce?

.... tell you what, I'll even say include the Copenhagen games if you like (even though theyre not league matches). I'd be interested in your thoughts.

Well i think we will win in Copenhagen on Thurs. They havn't played a competitive game since begining of December.

And it's not about 'predicting' three games we can win on the bounce because we have to look to win any game we go into, and im sure MH sends the players out thinking they can can win any game. And City can beat anyone on their day.

There is no reason why we can't win the next three games on the bounce even if the odds are stacked up against us at chelsea, villa and Liverpool.

What I don't like is the deafeatist mentality from alot of people on here 'scorer'. People asking "wheres the next 3 points coming from?" We can beat anyone, the negativity from some people on here is unbelievable.

Things have been alot fucking worse than now?

Can I have some of what you're having.

10 games in Europe 1 good performance against Schalke. We looked good that night but was it us or was it them underestimating us? they finished bottom of the group but if we'd lost there we'd have been bottom.

Make no mistake Copenhagen are a good side if we put in anything like our normal away perfomace over there we'll have a lot to do at home.

Chelsea, Pool, WHU & Villa - if we get 4 points i'll be pleasantly amazed.
