Whilst it's likely that Gundo, Bernardo, Grealish and McAtee will all leave in the next 12 months, you ignore that there's the small matter of Rodri, Kovatic, Foden, Lewis, Nunes and Ecceveri still in the queue ahead of him. Doing it for Rosenberg is one thing; becoming trusted and a 'Pep' regular is another, and isn't easy for any youngster - as was proven last season.

Could be great; could be another Perrone who's just left for Como, having been signed 2 years ago for £8M aged 20 and was seen twice in a City shirt.

Kovacic will be gone either this or next summer,maybe Nunes too but if not it will be as a full back,Rodri is a 6 Nypan is much more a box to box 8 very Gundogan/ Silva ish, Foden.Echeverri, Cherki more 10/wide players.
Nypan, Reinders, O'Reilly possible the only 8s.
Esteemed Kompany did a very good video on it yesterday and his predicted possible squad for in a year or 2 was very young ,but the gist was
6 Rodri Gonzalez
8 Reijnders , Nypan, O''Reilly
10/wide right Cherki. Foden , Echeverri. Bobb

How long until we think he could actually be playing for us? Is he more of a project or close to ready?

I've no doubt he'll be great as a midfielder, but I wouldn't say he smashed it as a defender. He really struggled most of the time I saw him in that position.
 
I'm hoping for the best but fearing that he'll go on loan and be sold in a couple of years for a small profit plus a sell on fee.

Admittedly it's something for which we excel and adds to the profits, but utterly frustrating when I'm reading about his potential and people getting all giddy.

Viana is different to Txiki though and maybe in one or defo two years we will have a new manager?

I hope you're right mate, but even with Echeverri and Bobb I get the impression that nothing will change and we'll be having the same arguments in 2-3 years that we're having now about Cole Palmer.

Perhaps they'll never be good enough for elite level but it's the Club (not the fans) who announce these signings with a huge fanfare

Yes, he looks great on youtube but who doesn't, however reading about him and what those who have watched a lot of him,he seems to be a very good and intelligent player that could be one of the best.
