Was a great day out, shame about the result but we managed to hold it to 0-0 with 60 minutes gone which I can't see many teams doing!!Our keeper was making his debut and looks awesome!! Fair play to you saw many fans before the game and I was near the segregation and many fans were wishing us well and clapping us which was nice of you. From that performance I'm sure we'll do well in the prem - we are not going to come up against a £38 million player every week!! I'm also glad to see you like the Scott Sinclair song haha. Look forward to welcoming you to Wales and hope it is a really good game again.
At half time there was quite a discussion going amongst City fans. Lots of frustration. Some saying we should be beating these, others saying Swansea are playing well, and this is a great night for them. No doubt you caused City problems, and then the goal changed the game.
From Swans point of view, I felt you passed the ball around really well with every player comfortable on the ball, however you didn't really carry a goal scoring threat.
You also look quite a lightweight team. There are some teams in the Premiership that are really big and aggressive. It's not just a challenge competing on a technical level, bit a challenge competing physically. You will know who I am referring to, but until you see them in front of you you might not appreciate what I am talking about
I think you were always going to struggle tonight, but your goal will be just to stay up. It is for every promoted club, and it was the same for City under Joe Royle and Keegan.
I can see you frustrating a lot of teams with your possession game, but you must score whilst you are on top. Your Cup Finals will be the winnable games at home but you also need to pick up a few points away to keep the pressure off, and to that you must get some penetration from your passing game. It was mostly sideways last night, and all that does is frustrate the opposition. Valuable but not as good as creating chances which terrify the opposition
On the debit side a lot of clubs will enjoy playing Swansea because you are not a physical threat, and you let teams play. And almost every team in the Premiership have special players who can hurt you. Swansea had a good possession game, but I didn't see the individual ability there to turn a promising situation into an attempt on goal. Premiership defences are a lot tougher to beat than Championship defences, and sometimes you need some individual ability to do something out of nothing to unlock a defence.
Good luck. beat the teams around you at home, and you will have a great season.
