what you don't do is wait 50 years to have the best around in the team them cast him aside for some new toy. he has earned his place in our DNA and for that we should all respect him.
even "shoot themselves in the foot " city shouldn't be handing this lad over to a rival. he will most certainly hurt us.

It does seem to me that there's an incredible amount of antagonism directed at Aguero on this forum at the moment, thinly disguised as "he's not playing well" or "dont change a winning side", which I find mystifying.

I don't see it. There's nothing at all antagonistic about pointing out that Aguero isn't playing well, which he isn't, or that it's less risky to stick with what works (as Chelsea have done since they switched to 3-4-3). Nothing there suggests anyone is against Aguero at all.

Teams around us are starting to drop points, it's at this time City need consistency more than anything. Few here would argue that many of our squad rotations resulted in a lack of gelling and from week to week we saw feast and famine.

Aguero is the best striker in the league, no doubt. But like every striker he can go off the boil too, he's allowed to, it happens and is natural. You can choose to play him through that patch, but our situation and position, coupled with the hard work and excellent performances of our front three, make that a challenge IMO.

Nobody here is disputing any of that. Though "best striker in Europe" is arguable, he's certainly the best in the Premier League.

Nobody is suggesting we haul Aguero off to a rival, good god. Your entire argument is built on a strawman.

You are posting in the City vs Swansea thread. People are posting Aguero maybe shouldn't start against Swansea.

I don't want to even touch the "earned his place in our DNA"/"should play no matter what" argument because clearly you have no idea what you're actually discussing here.

I'm excited just to see the team sheet today, even if we go 3 at the back, that leaves Dino, yaya, Silva, kdb, sane, sterling, Jesus and Sergio. one of them won't be starting today. if it's 4 at the back, 2 of them won't.

So disrespectful some fans Sergio is and will be our main striker for a while to come the lads a fucking legend could have had his choice of clubs over the years salary matched and bettered but he's stayed loyal to us and scored important goals when we've needed them most, to even question him astonishes me when he's fully fit he's the best end of some of you's need to give your head a shake hope he plays today and scores a few just to remind you of how lucky we are to have him
