Swansea (H) Pre-Match Thread

I can think of potentially two reasons:
1. People think Pep will opt for the "element of surprise" as doubtless Swansea will be expecting the same lineup, given it's been so successful. This doesn't seem to be a legitimate argument in modern football and one need look no further than Chelsea for evidence.
2. People think Aguero/Dinho should play regardless of form of other players or the team as a whole, either for sentimental reasons or otherwise. I don't think City are in any position, particularly with top four competitors dropping points again, to go along with this.

Regardless, I happen to agree with you for the most part. It's very possible Pep will change things up, but it shouldn't be something people are actively searching for. We've stumbled from one lineup to the next and lacked the consistency that comes with stability. Finally we have what looks like a genuine threat, a team that actually appears to be clicking according to Pep's unique and demanding, but incredibly rewarding, style. Why would anyone want to roll the dice on another lineup?

I dont think Aguero/Fernandhino should play every game regardless. But I do think they have a major part to play in the remainder of our season. And this seems like the ideal opportunity to re-introduce them.

Victim of the dreaded lurgy and doped up on paracetomol so gutted wont be there today. Come on lads, keep the momentum and confidence up and the points are tnhere for the taking.

Looking forward to today. The introduction of Sane and Jesus into the starting XI seems to have given everyone a lift, and there's a buzz amongst the fans again. Confidence should be high again after recent performances too. All of which means, of course, that we'll probably lose today, in time honoured tradition!

Think Sané and Jesus will start- Pep seems to love Jesus already (understandably) and Sané's in scintillating form. If anyone's to be dropped for Aguero I'd expect it would be Sterling, with Sané on the right and Jesus on the left.

I wouldn't drop either of them though.

I don't disagree with this sentiment necessarily, but I don't think now is the right time for it at all. We are anything but comfortable in the table and a failure to gain points when those around us are losing them at this stage is bad. Not that Dinho/Aguero would necessarily have that effect, but it seems folly to make any changes when we've finally found a team that clicks.

Yep, just know that it's going to go tits up , lol

Sure.

He's not been in consistent form lately, hence gamble.

I'm normally the first to call for his inclusion, but he doesn't earn it just by being Sergio Aguero if he's not contributing where others are.

Nicely worded post though, you'll go far.
Gamble my arse. Going back over the recent past, West Ham didn't start, palace didn't start, West Ham in cup started, scored and played well, Spurs played well didn't score but was part of a brilliant performance, Everton away played shite as did every single player in the team, burnley at home came on at half time with Dave and completely transformed the game. This season he has been injured and suspended a lot, and still has an excellent scoring record. His previous seasons speak for themselves. As I said, gamble my arse

I think after winning 4:0 the last thing we should be is to change the team, however we all know that Pep loves to tinker and so maybe i am expecting too much,
