Swansea v City Post Match Thread

Finally seen us win away at Swansea. Horrible trip back though, sat in soaking wet clothes and nasty driving conditions. Not nice seeing that half on the M5, facing the wrong way and on it's roof. Hope everyone got out ok and hope it wasn't Blues involved.

That was a well earned win. With all the football we have played in December, it was a tough fixture.

Every credit to Swansea who stuck to their principles and tried to play football. Bony is a great strong player, and with 3 of their first teamers out of a small squad, it goes to show that having a good coach and footballing morals, it can allow you to play the beautiful game correctly, (are you watching Tony Pulis).

Not a game I will want to rewatch, but it served us the 3 points we wanted.

Ferndy, what a player. He is really bedding in now with consistant top notch performances. Deffo deserved player of the month for December, and if he and Yaya can improve on protecting the defenders a bit better, no one will be able to touch us.

With the results now starting to become consistant home and away, and still many improvements that can be made in our game, its frightening how good we can become. We still have a couple of gears to go up yet (sorry for the cliche) and if we do this I think it is definately our title to lose I hate being arrogant when it comes to City because it makes me sound like a Utd fan, but its hard to see anything other than expectations of City wins in every game now.

I think Arsenal are playing at their max and they will fall away come feb/march, and I just dont see Chelsea being as settled internally as we are. Liverpool, as good as a team as I think they have, are just too fragile of a squad to compete for the full season. Everton are playing great football but similar to Liverpool with respect to squad depth. Spurs seem to have had an improvement in form in the last few weeks but I think they are too inconsistant. Utd, lol, yeah right, don't need to say anymore.

Apparently we took only 1,000 to Swansea and had the smallest away following of the weekend, yet their stadium was near enough capacity?

Yet another decision goes against us away from home....the Swansea first which was clearly offside.

This time it didn't matter. We've had a few in our favour (Liverpool), but the debits massively outweigh the credits to my mind.

it is true, we returned half the allocation, was a real small pocket of the stadium we sat in

Not surprising really especially after they moved us to 12.45 k.o. and put it on the telly. And the distance further than any other Prem team had to travel on New Years Day. You could see we had a reduced part of the stand but it still felt more then 1000.

I have never seen this site before - I agree circa 1,000 was about right. Also some no shows in upper section adjacent to Swansea fans behind the net.

fantastic effort by those who went, time for a fully fledged petition to stop fans being dragged around the country at ridiculous times on ridiculous days, I think there was 7 out of 10 weeknight matches about a month ago with a round trip of over 150/200 miles, it's a joke what they're doing to the fans.

I telephoned Manchester City yesterday and was told our allocation for the Swansea game was 2000 which were all sold!!

more than a thousand for sure, even with the shitty weather, was a great if not wet day out, and swans fan were very quiet this season, they didnt bother with the drums much as we stole it for our fern chant, which pissed them off a bit, haha. we pretty much out sung them, even when at 1-1 they wernt that noisey, which was unusual as last 2 seasons i was there was fantastic atmosphere. but who cares 3 points thats all that counts
