Swansea v City Post Match Thread

Good result and away form is definitely better but still some improvement needed.

Plus points were the two full backs who had very good games and Navas who was outstanding. Fernandinho was doing the work of two men as Yaya was having one of his lazy arsed games. Dzeko never stopped trying but Nasri and Negredo disapointed.

The two central defenders were not good and Vinnie was diving in when not needed, both Swansea's goals were preventable.

Hart worries me he frequently gets beaten with low long range shots, doesn't come for crosses when he should then dashes out and flaps at balls he can't get near - still a problem for me.

Garcia and Milner both did well when they came on.

Still think a central defender and keeper could be on the January shopping list.

Great day out, apart from getting soaked to the skin.

Saw Cheeky (and I think Sorriano) on our train going down getting some ZZZs in and then on the way to the ground popped in for a pint in a pub on the left as you walk up(Smiths Arms)& met some Welsh City fans in there, one of them with the 99 Play Off shirt.

There was also City shirts on the wall as the landlord was a massive Blue.Went in again after the game and have to say the Swans fans in there were top rate, they said I looked like their ex keeper Roger Freestone too!Going to google him in a bit,bet hes an ugly bastard!

Journey back was arduous but with 3 points,a few beers and Mr & Mrs Squirtyflower for company the time flew by.

Don't do many aways nowadays but enjoyed that one, great club Swansea with some proper fans.

Ps Didi correct on MOTD,you cant play Yaya in front of back 4 away, suicidal.

Posted on one of their boards.

Sorry, haven't read this entire thread through, and I don't honestly have the time. Has somebody put their hand up to say that - forget his goal - the much-maligned Aleks, who supposedly can't defend, turned in a nearly faultless performance in defence yesterday? Because if not, I'm doing it here and now. Was slightly miffed about the late goal (we keep doing that, it's a bit worrying) but we are on a hell of a roll, winning everything in sight since Sunderland (ok, one draw). The point is, success breeds success, and confidence breeds confidence. Silva to come back, Sergio hopefully to be back this month. Jovetic to be back sometime in the fourth millenium. We're on track.

Never thought I'd ever say this (gulps and takes a deep breath), but Kolorov was my man-of-the-match and that was before his goal. Credit where credit's due.

Having said that, his shocking lack of pace is still a worry. On a few occasions he was saved by Nasri, Fernadinho or Nasty when he didn't have the pace to get back into position, but he was well covered by his team mates so no harm done....... this time!

We were 5 rows from the front and it wasn't much dryer! Thank fuck the stewards didn't make us sit down, if I'd had been a steward I would have made you all sit on the wet seats, with the might of the welsh police behind me.

Agree with Pellegrini the score flattered Swansea slightly. More important are the 3 points to complete the full 12 out of 4 festive games. I think we are the only team to have done that and it's worth a big compliment. Back 4 did oke without standing out, with Kolarov having another great game. Midfield failed, as we had one more man in that area but it didn't show. When Garcia came in we got a better grip on things. Navas was great, but negredo definitely feeling the strains from the many games that have been played. Pity the other teams won their games as well. And yes, United lost by I don't see them as challengers really.

May I add that the ref gave a totally silly yellow card to 4 of our players. Shocking refereeing lately in the PL by the way.

All of the above. The only thing you can fault Garcia for yesterday was wearing a scarf when he was warming up on the touch line, soft ****.
