There was a West Ham player (I think) who got sent off for something similar, although in that one there was much more of a followthrough into the man.
The way this game is going, neither team will have 11 fit players to pick against England.

He had time to bend his leg. He didn’t. He’s caused a nasty injury.When you swing your leg to kick the ball a decent distance, it’s inevitable that your leg will fully extend. Any shot at goal is going to have an outstretched leg in the follow through. Should we be telling players not to shoot as hard? It’s a silly argument. He just got unlucky. It’s a clear red but it’s unlucky all round.
Why is he not sent off then?
