fair play stoner blue but if it isnt the issue why mention that and not the issue? If i say to you i dont like you but its not your shoes and then dont tell you the reason why i dont like you do you then think well at least its not my shoes or do you think whats up with my shoes. its drawing attention to the point without stating it directly.

There is nothing wrong with his shoes.

I use to be his biggest mate, I put the moving on to Chelsea as a none starter, chance to better himself etc, though the handling of the affair was niave at best, then I watchbthe kid throw his career away by being a Paris, and content to warm a bench, then he returns to what appeared to All as a chance to reignite his career...... What does willis do? Fool me once, fair play, twice..... Not on the zimmer mans watch

Brilliant, even with the blatent racial undertones....

Nothing to do with money hes not good enough to get in our starting 11 and the further we progress as a team more players will be replaced.

I hope SWP re-signs because he has been a match winner and will be again. He knows where the goal is and isn't afraid to have a go.

On the matter of contracts, does anyone know what a contract entails. For instance are players paid when they're injured. Do clubs have insurance for this sort of thing? I know that Owen went to the tossers on a pay per play contract but is this unusual?

One more thing. Where did Nimely, the sub at Burnley, come from, if it's not a stupid question?

I agree, wouldn't have him in my first 11 on current form but on the basis that he is quick and tracks back well, I reckon he is a great squad player.

no quote then genius.

Pretty obvious what SWP is after.

1) His Gobshite father comes out with these comments about being mugged off. Do you honestly think SWP had not had any conversations with Ian Wright about his pay and contract talks???. It would be naive to think that Ian Wright just went off on one without having talked about it with SWP first.

2) About a week later SWP does an exclusive interview with the sun. This obviously annoyed the manager who commented that he would prefer players to speak to him directly rather than run to newspapers. In that interview SWP had the opportunitiy to distance himself from his fathers comments. What did he do?? repeated the fact that its not about money about 4 times and then made the comment:

"I can't work out why there's still a delay, unless they don't want me and are trying to get me out."

This above comemnt shows utter contempt for the club at a crucial time where we need to be focused solely on achieving 4th place. He has 2 years left on his contract these talks can surely wait 3 more months to the end of the season. If it wasnt about the money then why the urgency??

Bottom line is there was no need to bring up this issue with 3 months left in the season, he and his father are the ones who brought this into the public domain nobody else and frankly they deserve all the backlash they are getting.

Summed up nicely imo.

What about the quotes where he mentions the fact that some team mates are on double his salary? Why even mention that if it's not about money?

Quote (not saying from who)

"He is a speed merchant who is loosing his speed. Why would we give him a 5 year extension"

Anyway, Shaun has always been an enigma to me, a myth if you will. He works hard, gets knocked and bounces back up and has given a lot to the club. However the handling of the move to Chelsea was not good, he said first that he didnt want to go, dragged it on and then handed a transfer request to Pearce just before he was supposed to play ina pre-season friendly.

Techinically he is not the best, he is incapable of wrapping his foot around the ball and relies on being able to strike through it with his laces. His crossing is woeful and his first touch is very poor. In the past hsi pace has been his asses but its no coincidence that as that starts to ebb away he is loosing his ability to beat players.

I accept he hasnt directly asked for more cash, i think its more about getting himself a longer deal as he knows himself that his pace is going and he will not get another contract of anything the like he will get at City if he moves on.

Gone at the end of the season. Not the player he used to be, not got the same passion that he used to have and not in the same class as some of his teammates.

When (not if) he leaves then he does so with my best wishes and I will have some great memories of him. I don't blame him for wanting more money but I don't think his performances have been consistently good enough to warrant an extended contract.

If we want to renew his contract he should realise we will come to him with the offer, not the other way around. He would be a good squad player next season, but given the performances of the team with Bellamy / AJ on the wings, would he settle for virtually being a substitute? Not a top four standard player in my opinion.

Of course he wants a payrise, I don't blame him, he's good enough to be in our squad and always gives 100% and he isn't on anywhere near what some of the other players are on. But isn't it all coming from Ian Wright on that radio station he's on, he should either tell Ian Wright to shut the f*ck up or come out and say that Ian Wright is talking shite again!!!

Why bring it up if it's not the issue. Of course it's the issue.

OK, so when he says, "that's not the issue for me," he obviously means, "yeah. it's all about money,"

FAIL.

Why would he bring it up then (about other players earnings?).

Secondly - Anyone signing off with FAIL is a nob. Grow up

Spot on. What Ian Wright originally did is just what agents/hangers on do. They have an agenda and let's not be surprised about it. I mean, who doesn't have an agenda? It's like me telling Mrs Burns what lovely eyes she's got, when we both know it's not her eyes I'm interested in at that particular point in time! Too much information I know, but it's how it works.

who can find me a direct quote from Shaunny where he says he 'wants more money' ?

I've asked this several times of the SWP haters and not one has found anything.

It won't be Shaun himself asking for more money .... it'll be stepdaddy telling him he deserves it!

I equate Wright-Phillips' moaning akin to this.

I sold my house a number of years back for double what I paid for it, within three years.

Do you think the person I bought it off should have any recourse in terms of how much money I made out of it?

Bollocks, you take your chances. He signed-up on £60k a week prior to the takeover, but feels pissed because others have come in a reaped the benefit.

He won't get £60k a week anywhere else outside of the top five/six.

The only way he will get that is to let his deal run down, so we'll see how much the money is important to him this summer.

We will try to offload, if we can get £6m for him, it's good business.
