SWP

To be fair SWP has had some severe kickings this season! Just wonder if he really has picked up a few knocks or its taken something out of his game

that is sweeps downfall imo..to brave for his own good at times, flies into tackles and gets clattered, amazed he gets back up sometimes.

I thought the crowd got to him today, he got some real treatment. I'm not sure he needs a rest though ( unless he is carrying knocks), the more games he plays the better he'll get IMO.

Totally agree, he has taken a lot of hefty challenges recently but just seems to want to get on with it, prob has affected his game slightly, but im sure he will be back !

Cannot believe what I am reading.

Most of this season he has been great and an influential addition to the team. The only times he has not had an impact is like today where he is not played specifically on the right. He has a poor game due to that and is also missed as we failed to stretch Stoke being one of the main reasons for failing to beat them! He is and still will be a great player.

I agree about Richards and cannot beleive that following the Newcastle game and today performance that he was not taken off.

Also beginning to think that Ireland is becoming a "home form player" as he plays well when the going is good but goes missing when it is a close game.

He's been one of our better players for most of the games he's played in this season.

He's been hacked to pieces in some games and was a doubt for this game, was man-marked out of it particularly in the second half. Stoke were forcing us inside all the time so we couldn't use the width, it was good tactics by them, and they just got bodies behind the ball in central areas. Today we simply weren't good enough to exploit 11 v 10. Move on, and with SWP in the team next week!

Etuhu looked really good on the right when he was fit. He would be fine for a short-term fill-in. Plus I suspect we would only ever play one real wide player therefore Petrov would effectively be the alternative, when he's back.
Looking forward to having Petrov back. But Hughes had Weiss on the bench the other week, so he must think he is up to the job.

He always gives 100% and never hides.

I love the guy. We remember lots of great moves he made for us a few years ago, but he did'nt perform every game like he had scored the winner against the scum.

In my humble opinion, he is now a better player than he was when he left us.

His honesty, in a world where cheating and diving seem to be the norm. is refreshing.

For that reason alone, I will always admire and respect him.

think he might have suffered today due to the stoke fans, everytime he got the ball he got boo'd....was'nt taking as many runs as he usually does.
maybe due to a knock
maybe due to the crowd

piss poor performance by the team as a whole though so cant just be blaming SWP

He didn't put one cross in from the right flank today he and neither did Micah Richards our right flank was impotent.
