SWP

SWP had a relatively slow start to this season, but he's been one of our best performers in the last few games. Tevez has earned a start in the next game due to his excellent performance yesterday, but it's not SWP but Gareth Barry on current form who should miss out. While I'm at it, Robinho in for Bellamy and Richards in for Zabaletta please.

Over Sylvinho? Give over
Insua's got all the makings of a top left-back, people should open their eyes.

Sylvinho's nearly 36, hasn't played more than fifteen games a season for four years. Not bad to come in and get a game now and again, but given the choice of the two players surely any sane person would take the younger player, full of potential, rather than the bit-part player approaching retirement.

Ask anyone who watches Insua week in, week out, they'll tell you he's a good player.

I beg to differ but thats what a forum is about mate.

What's killing us is playing two defensive midfielders, it was'nt Tevez coming on what changed play allthough he did well, it was Barry going off,we may lose more games like Arse and Spurs but we will win alot more, SWP was'nt good enough for Chelsea that is why they are top

Forget about his run that took 3 defenders out.
Forgat about his goal line clearance
Forget about his turn resulting in a goal
Forget about the fouls that he bounces straight back up from
Don't mention his defensive work in the middle or his header to deny their centre half at the far post.

Concentrate on the fact that he failed to go past the full back twice in two minutes or failed to find a blue shirt with every pass.

Drop him for a kid who hasn't played more than 20 minutes in a prem game and who most of you have seen play 90 mins at any level and we'll be on course for world domination...

Spot on. For me first name on team sheet.
I agree with Spanish blue he did some great work in defence and I'm glad someone pointed them out. Perhaps he could be an answer to our right back position and give Weiss or Tevez the right wing spot. Apart from the brilliant turn for the goal he was terrible going forward and so often spoils our attacking options with lame attempts at the fullback.

Did anybody else notice that SWP probably saved us a point by making a goal-line headed clearance in the 87th minute to prevent Liverpool scoring. Yes, I said "headed clearance"...for once, Given was completely beaten. Thank you SWP.

Two in fact. One from a corner and the one you're on about where he rose like a salmon to beat their centre half to the ball

some of the comments on here are well wide of the mark,SWP is one of the 1st names on the team sheet every week, last week v Burnley he ripped them 2 bits scoring 1 and making another,at anfield he made supermans goal and saved us defensively on a couple of occasions, thats just the last 2 games, open your fookin eyes FFS,some of our fans our complete idiots, imo they are basing their facts on twice in 2 minutes SWP failed to get past Insua, thats just the way SWP plays ,off THE CUFF THATS WATS MAKES HIM SUCH A VALUABLE PLAYER,Capello thinks so as well.

The fact that the vast majority in this thread are very supportive of SWP has helped restore some of my faith in my fellow blues. The lad is an absolute diamond and City through and through.
