Not really. If they’re big and hard enough going around kicking people in the face or chopping trees down whilst their mates film it, then they should suffer the consequences of their name most likely getting out - usually by the little **** filming. You're right. But children have the right to move on after any conviction once they've served their punishment. It's not fair to share names and photos. The sort of people attracted to it are the sort of people who used to watch Jeremy Kyle.
There's something definitely odd about it. For one thing, there doesn't appear to be a back cut.I've no idea if any tree surgeons post here, but a few online are saying a 16 year old kid couldn't have just ambled along and cut down such a tree with a bog standard chainsaw. They say it would need expertise and a heavy duty chainsaw. The tree also appears to have been marked before being cut, again something a professional would do. The plot thickens.
Also those moaning about the attention this has attracted and people discussing it here. It's a discussion forum, if nobody discussed anything it wouldn't be here.
Thanks.Wow, with powers of deduction like that you should be a detective.

Literally nothing to do with Jezzer.
I had no knowledge of the tree in question before today. I didn't know it was "famous"
I do know a little bit about trees, because I've always found them fascinating.
A tree asks of nothing that we don't already provide. It only asks for a relatively undisturbed existence, although it's more than capable of adapting if needs be.
In return, it gives over it's life to several important things.
Home to thousands of species, rare, or common, makes no difference. The tiny ant, to the mighty Eagle, all call it home, and all are welcome.
When it can, between trying to produce seed or nut to reproduce, it rewards us with edible fruit.
It has its cycles, and all are represented by a show of colour that truly would have any none believer at least believe in mother nature.
Spring, say, when the birds are actively seeking a place to call home, is conveniently the time when said tree is awakening, ready with green shoots that will provide shelter such that the birds may nest and breed in safety.
Summer comes and the tree is thriving, growing another ring, providing a home to beatles, moths, spiders, caterpillars feeding on the lush leaves. The chicks have fledged, the tree wishes them well, see you next year.
Autumn approaches, and with it, some unpredictable weather, we may even lose a branch or two, we definitely lose those lovely brown leaves, time to think about a little sleep, a deserved one.
Winter comes, still providing that essential shelter for all that need it, but taking a well earned break.
Now an oak for example, can do this for a thousand years (give or take)
350 years to grow
350 years to live
300 years to die.
If this doesn't command some kind of respect then I truly worry about us as a species going forward.
The kid who chopped that tree down doesn't need punishing.
He needs educating.
As much as I'd like to jump on the bandwagon, because I'm angry, society as it is, is letting this happen.
I'm at a loss if I'm honest.
Thank you.A great post. The more education and moral life lessons we can get into kids the better. A lot of that used to come from parents, but sadly a lot never had any themselves or care.
Another thing is kids will always be kids, they just think differently. I had brilliant parents who installed all these values on me and my sister but in spite of that I could still be a little shit. ( A shock I know lol.) They do things that WILL cause moral outrage and upset people, that's where the fun is. Later some will regret their actions but the damage is done.
We hope we can eventually reduce this sort of behaviour but sadly I fear it will never happen, it's just part of life.
