Taking our Owners for Granted!

I just thought it would be worth a counter balance thread to the taking the fans for granted thread. Here are a few examples:

A) Our owners invest £60 million in extending the ground and making cheaper seats available. Many of the £299 season card holders and Blues in other parts of the ground leave early.

B) our owners would love us to win the Champs League but our manager is criticised for picking weakened teams against Chelseaa in the Cup and Saints in the league despite the recalcitrant Prem League refusing to move the preceding fixtures.

C) yes our owner is loaded but why assume he will spend another £60 million on expanding the North Dtand just to keep a few of us happy and make more cheaper seats available!

Nothing to do with taking our owners for granted, quite the opposite.

I worry that our owners have been taken for granted by a lot of their employees. ie players, management and some execs.

But I know we have the finest chairman in the world of business and if the above is the case, you can be sure he will be on their case and on it quickly,

Naaah. They do well, they get praised. And they have had plenty of praise from almost every City fan since the takeover because they have done most things well and exceeded expectations in many areas. When they get a few things wrong, though (or more accurately, their management does), they can expect criticism. Happens in business and they wouldn't expect anything else. I don't think anyone is taking the owners for granted.

It is a bit too critical on here though. The journey we have been taken on has been the 'wishes coming true' type, it's good to keep a sense of perspective to the current situation with performances.
A drop in form will have probaby been anticipated by the city top nobs after the pep info was released. Although I don't think they anticipated it would get to this level.
Get top 4 and all in all its been an acceptable season.
The owners will back us again financially this close season, and as long as they have involvement with our club we will be challenging for top honours- and that really is all us as fans should be concentrating on.
We have the best owners in sport and we are very very lucky.
Over criticism of every move that is made by the club (which Is in part filtered down into the fans psyche from the negativity from the media) is just crass.

those 3 points don't really take our owner for granted though, most of the moaning on here is about
1. sorano's cold corporate attitude to the fans with his lack of acknowledgement or empathy with what he probably considers consumers or stakeholders.
2.tixi's somewhat failed transfer dealings and stalking of pep for 4 years.
3. pellers inability to manage a decent squad of players and talented youth side to be able to compete on several fronts as other top european clubs seem to be able - athletico a prime example.

Not seen any real negative comments on khaldoon or Shiekh Mansour or taking what he has done for us for granted, I expect he probably feels let down by these people too as they have failed in some aspects of their roles ( cannot slag sorano for his expansion of the group profile nycfc, melbourne etc).

I would say people take it for granted that having a wealthy owner guarentees success and act a little precious if we don't win every week.

Exactly right.

As someone else said, it's more like the employees of the club are taking our owner for granted.

(employees of the club are taking our owner for granted)

this is so right and some on our board at the club have cushy numbers and the scouting of players sometimes leaves you scratching your head with the price tag put on them. the fans are so grateful for what been done at our club and forever will be the 1st to be thanked from the stands by the fans. but I see it they picked us for being a great club with a lot of room for the future and could be something special with a little helping hand in them deep pockets

Tim of the oak is working extra hard to pip Blue Mooner and Kazzydeyna for the top blue award for this year.
Could be too little too late but good on you for giving it a go.

I would have thought that was obvious, because we want him to make us happy.

Fair enough. Maybe though if we want the North Stand extended then the vast majority of us should pitch up for the full 90 minutes plus injury time. (I know Some people have to leave early due to personal circumstances etc).

I can imagine the Sheikh's kids sat in front of the TV asking their Dad why is their empty seats In the new stan?

Um, we've won more trophies then Atletico has in the last three seasons...

We've lots to be grateful for but, like the players and the manager, if they make mistakes, they aren't immune from criticism.
Personally waiting 3 years for a manger has been costly and I hope that's it's going to be worth the wait.

Can't see that anyone takes them for granted. If the team performs, and are exciting to watch, fans come to games and stay until the end. If the team are boring to watch then some fans who travel for home games will find an excuse to miss the West Brom/Bournemouth type games. That's not taking the owners for granted, that's just making a choice if your weekend has other options where entertainment is concerned.
