Pellegrini has always tried to play a strong team in all competitions since he took over, probably more so than any other club.The object has always been to compete & try to win all trophy's. Last week because of the decision by the FA & BBC to play the match on Sunday he was forced into a corner whether to play a weaker team in the FA cup or Champions League, due to only having 13 fit players and playing away to Dynamo Kyiv 3 days later.
The club pleaded with the FA & BBC to play the match Saturday in order to play a strong team but that was rejected. As we know the FA lost out.
What about the FA & BBC disrespecting Manchester City.

There's more than one way to skin a cat. If we win on Sunday I'd like Pellegrini or Vinny to tell Sky that we consider the League Cup to be the premier domestic cup competition this season due to what happened last weekend. Now Sky are no great lovers of City but they would have to give any such interview a lot of air time as it builds up their competition.This would be bound to be picked up by the rest of the media. We need to start playing them off against each other.

They are also launching Talk Radio which will be like LBC & have named Paul Ross, George Galloway, Iain Lee & a few others as presenters. They are bringing back the Virgin Radio name have announced Edith Bowman, Kate Lawler, Tim Cocker (ex XFM Manchester) & Matt Richardson. I've heard a rumour Colin Murray will do a weekend show as well
