It's called "banter" mate...on an internet football forum dedicated to Manchester City, and with you as a self-confessed Everton fan....

Light the candles, and let the mourning commence...

Lol, fair enough can't really argue with that.

*lights candle and indulges in self-pity*

Ha ha.... fair enough...maybe you do all have a sense of humour after all...

You're not Tarby up a bit late,are ya?Or Liza?

Or better still..... "Toffee Tom O'connor?"

;-)

Tarbuck's such a twat, trust me these professional scousers are loathed by us as much as anyone. All come out for the red shite, you seen that video that they've made? The most pathetic thing I've ever seen, disgrace and what's worst is the fact people associate Liverpool FC with Liverpool, so they think they represent us all.

Seriously would fucking love the twats to go bust.

No, I don't mean the Wirral, although there are a lot of famous scousers live there. The girl from Atomic Kitten still lives in the city I believe, the scouse actors in Hollyoaks live in the city, as does Tomlinson. People like Herbet Howe, Lorraine McCulloch all still live in Liverpool.

Not that it matters, we lost a lot of people during the 70s, 80s and 90s and as a city we struggled, as did all of the Northern cities. Manchester has done incredibly well over the past 10-15 years, revitalising its city cente and Liverpool has gone about doing something similar over the past 5 or so years too. Not that I expect a you to acknowledge that, as your almost pathological hatred is seemingly innate.

Hopefully the resurgence of the Northern Cities can continue, although poverty levels in Liverpool and Manchester remain very high compared to the rest of the country.

I seem to remember Heseltine throwing money at Liverpool after Toxteth. Difference between Liverpool and Manchester is go and see what you did with it. Look at the garden festival scheme! LOL!

I've got mixed feelings about it.
I see Liverpool's problems as a blessing for us,in that it's one less team we have to worry about....but that at the same time, they've done little as a club to deserve the shit the Yanks put them in.
I have to admit I've never had a problem with Liverpool, and have always enjoyed it when they twat the rags.If they were the only English club left in Europe,I'd back them.
And I also have to say that back in the day, when we were getting done by 6 at home, with Dalglish on fire...they were just a cut above-probably the best club side I've ever seen. And unlike the rags, they didn't rub it in your face.
I know that's battery acid for your eyes, but it seemed that way at the time.

Saying that,it probably looks the same for you boys about the stretford massive.

My enemy's friend is my friend,as it were.

Either way,it makes the derby at your place interesting.
I tip you to win 3-1.

Liverpool are shit at the back-and your boys will be all over them like a cheap suit.

It was a fairly good idea at first, but just in completely wrong place and didn't really do anything to help anyone who mattered.

Manchester's council has been far better than ours for a long time to be fair, starting to change attitudes now but going to be hard to get money for anything now.

-- Thu Oct 14, 2010 11:36 pm --

Yer, same for us with Liverpool. In the 1980s it was almost as it is for Manchester now, we both had good teams and despite all the stuff you here about 'friendly rivalry' there was a strong hatred there. Heysel was the straw that broke the camels back though, not the fact it happened, which was bad enough but the fact they denied it was them and then rejoice in the fact we didnt get to to Europe.

I've never minded Man Utd in the same way you say 'enemy's enemy is my friend', I wouldn't say I like them but when they do well it makes the Kopites cry.

I'd love you to be right but they always worm a result out against us, even when they're shite.

Can't see them getting a result against your boys,Tom.

You'll be up for rubbing it in.
The same as we did when the rags got taken over by the Yanks..it was an extra shot in the arm and we beat them 3-1 with a pretty average team that day....Fowler put a beautiful 3rd into the right hand corner of the net.

Everton fans are pretty fierce at Goodison when they've got a "cause..."

;-)

Yer should be a good atmosphere against the RS, although the Liverpool away fans seem to poor nowadays, in terms of voice.

Look forward to our clashes later in the season, seems to be bit of extra spice now. I do miss Maine Road though, was up there with my favourite away days.

I think, as a 40+ football fan, my earliest memories of European football were of watching Liverpool (and Notts Forest), in Europe and the best England Kit we ever had - the Admiral one with the red and blue at the top.

I've never been a Liverpool fan as such, but I've always wanted them to win in Europe, against any English team barring us, Bolton (the team I used to watch when I couldn't see City and it was cheap enough) and Everton. I don't know why I chose Everton as one of the three - maybe because it was blue against red?

My point is though, I don't mind LFC but I can't stand their fans! There's something about the arrogant, cockiness that I really can't be doing with. They are made from the same mould as rags - I wouldn't like LFC or united to go down or end up in trouble but I'd like to see the club those tossers support do it - if that makes sense? The derby games are too good to lose - what could ever replace a City/utd or Liverpool/Everton game?

Is that an accurate observation? Take Liverpools fab four - None of them left Liverpool except for John, George, Paul and Ringo. Cilla Lives in London. Tarbuck in Surrey, Tom Baker Tunbridge Wells, Elvis Costello - London, Daniel Craig - err London, Phil Redmond near Tarpoly, Alexei Sayle - London, Anne Robinson............... you see a pattern here? They've all buggered off as soon as they could!!

Ricky Tomlinson lives there, but he's actually from Blackpool.

As Ringpeice Star said when asked if he missed anything about Liverpool - 'No, nothing'. This resulting in someone chopping the head off his topiary Beatles figure - should have left the bush and chopped his off - tosser.

Ken Dodd still lives there, if he's still alive that is. I can't remember if he's passed away or not.
I'll be sad if he has, I would hate to miss the sight of all those diddymen carrying his coffin.

Doddy's still goin', came on and said some nice words when Norman Pitkin passed away!

Liverpool is a fine city and scousers are, usually, great people. After London, which is a world city, our two cities are the best in the country.

Oh and Tarby is a twat!
