Taylor Harwood-Bellis - move to Southampton completed.

Really surprised he’s going back on loan to the Championship for a 3rd season. Surely a lower level PL team could have taken a punt on him if it’s just a loan?

Not seen anything on this, where is he going ?

It is a little bit surprising, but there are flaws in his game that have seemingly put Prem managers off.

He'll be comfortable at Southampton (if that's happening) alongside familiar faces and playing a system that should suit.

Leave on a free (development fee?) at end of season?

Will go on to have a good career this lad and probably pick up a few caps. Happy with that fee though, let’s hope Southampton get promoted!

You have to question why Kompany hasn't made a move after he spent a year on loan there last season. Perhaps people are seeing him as not quite premier league standard.

Looks a really solid player. Will go on to have a good career at the top level in all probability. Unfortunate for the lad he came through at a time we have such a wealth of talent in his position.

Looks like they’re gonna need him, Southampton are 4-0 down after 50 mins! They also dropped Shea Charles who has been one of their best players

I mean logic dictates he just isn't at that level (yet), despite what we see, if he can't be sold or loaned to a Premier League club. Hopefully he really breaks out at Southampton

He played 32 games last season and is fit and ready to go now. If Kompany thought he was of the required standard then surely he would have made a move.

I watched plenty of him last year and before, and ive said the same.

He has great potential but there are areas of his game that will be quickly found out and exploited at Prem level, vinnie clearly recognised such.

This loan will do him good and maybe iron out or teach him how to better deal with his weaknesses.

Perhaps, but it might just be that he has a limited budget and spending 20 million on long-term potential wouldn't be as good as spending it on established players. They had two centre backs on loan last season and bought one of them. Having said that, they didn't buy a single proven PL player. Most of their signings were playing in the Championship last season, and there were a couple from Belgium and one from Ligue 2 in France. Maybe they picked up some bargains, but it seems a bit more like they're having to shop in the bargain bucket to me.
