His main weakness for me is his lack of speed and mobility,i also think he could still improve his strength and physicality.He excels in in his reading of the game and his passing ability,he is also a talker and leader.
If i had to pick a player from our current crop,id say he most resembles a light weight Laporte.
As for Akanji.....he may have his faults....but in terms of athleticism,presence,and adaptability/flexibility,he is a long way in front currently.
THB is heading in the right direction though,he has come on in leaps and bounds since his time at Blackburn and in Holland....so time and further experience will ultimately dictate.
