Taylor Harwood-Bellis - move to Southampton completed.

A long shot but I wouldn't mind him being Laporte's replacement (although Gvardiol has the edge on playing at a higher level)

I honestly think he will end up a top premier league player and probably play for England. It’s so difficult to see him getting a chance at city though
He will. He’s in a different class at the same age than the likes of Mee, for example. And no disrespect, Ben has had a brilliant premier league career and pleased he has become a cult hero at Brentford after a decade of great service to Burnley
A buyback deal for Taylor is probably the best solution for all concerned

Think Taylor could potentially have a spot in our squad next season, with plenty of opportunities for minutes as well. At least if we are planing to keep playing this system with 3 CBs on the field + Stones (with Lewis as his backup?). Walker & Laporte (+Cancelo) potentially leaving... With Stones playing his new role could to with an extra body among the CBs and if we would have something like this I could easily see him get some starts in cups, CL group stage and "easier" PL games when the others need a rest. Spend big on Gvardiol and even it out with taking TBH back for free.

Rodri/Phillips (or replacement) - Stones/Lewis
Gvardiol/Ake - Dias - Akanji/Harwood-Bellis

I suspect that if we didn't already own him we would probably be very interested in a 21 year old English CB who captained the national team at u21 level on several occasions, who is a regular starter in a team playing possession based football dominating the Championship, and see him as a great depth option at centerback when we are playing this system with 3 CBs. Now there is instead talk of selling him with a buy back? Just get him in and sell later if it doesn't work out.
