Taylor Harwood-Bellis - move to Southampton completed.

Would we not consider keeping him,the loan at Burnley seems to have done the world of good for him he’s come on very well..

Realistically, he may be behind Dias, Guardiola, Ake, Stones and Akanji for a spot here (and possibly Laporte still as well).

I agree he could still be a good player for us, but when would he get opportunity ahead of them?

Also not sure he's quick enough for the wide centre-back in a 3, so he may have to play centrally. Dias would obviously keep him out, but any of the others might too if Dias wasn't playing.

He won't want to just sit on the bench. If that happens, his value would fall and the teams currently after him may also lose interest.

Selling him with every clause we can think of makes sense. Sell-on fee, buy-back clause, first-option, chance to match bids.... Everything.

Then if he impresses in the Prem for a decent footballing side, bring him back in a couple of years.

He has developed well on loan, but he is not good enough for us.

His passing game is his best asset, and he is useful in the opposition box,but i suspect his weaknesses will find him out in the Prem.

I find it strange that burnley have signed that “unproven” defender coulibaly from dortmund over him? my mates were very impressed with thb last season

As were mine, but they also highlighted his lack of pace and rigidity and claimed Beyer as the better player.
It was interesting to see that they looked as good,if not better,at the back, when THB was out injured.

Clearly there is reason Vinnie is reluctant to find the modest fee for THB.

In fairness mate everytime i watched burnley last season beyer impressed me, inc the annual etihad hammering!! but for quite a modest fee by all accounts burnley have turned down the chance of signing thb? one of the best centre backs the prem has ever seen obviously sees flaws in him

Beyer impressed me too,he looked the more accomplished of the two in almost every game i watched.

Yep,as with many Academy products.....while he/they are good players, they arent good enough, and many are looking though sentimental Blue tints and/or havent watched them for a sustained period.
