Team for the opening day of next season update 10/11 page 19

-------------------------- Hart/Given --------------------------

Boateng ------- Kompany(c) -------- Lescott ------- Kolarov

----------------- Y.Toure --------- De Jong -------------------

------ Johnson ------------ Silva ----------- Robinho ---------

-------------------------- Tevez --------------------------------

Similar to Brazil we would have a back 7 that defend and keep things tidy at the back, then a front 4 that will require very little tracking back and will be there mainly to score the goals, along with 2 fullbacks who can play a little and aid in getting forward down the wings. Yaya would also have the license to get forward on occasions too. Although, i'd be tempted to go with the below formation for the front 4 but i am led to believe Silva isn't half the player on the wing as he is in the centre. Ofcourse as a front 4 they will be allowed to roam around in a free fashion though, except Adebayor/Torres who should just stick up top as Fabiano does for Brazil.

-------- A.Johnson ---------- Tevez ---------- Silva --------

----------------------- Adebayor/Torres ---------------------

If we get everone we want in timeand everyone is fit.

If you were handed the managers job who would you buy (or sell) this summer and who would be your startin line up (realisiticaly). Here's mine

Given
Richards Alves Kompany Bridge

SWP Zabaletta De Jong Silva

Ibrahimovic Robinho

Bench: Hart Dunne Onuha Johnson Ireland Sturridge Bojinov

Ireland could be used instead of Robinho in away games if robi plays anything like he has done this season. I know its a bit harsh to drop ireland but he doesnt fit well into a 4-4-2 formation. Also i know silva is a push but whats to say with valencia's financial troubles we cnt get him. I reckon villa will go to barca which could mean eto'o comin here which is a lot more likely than us gettin ibra especially with him and mourinho gettin on like a house on fire

tevez? aderbayor? johnson not startin? yaya toure? should i carry on..

-----------------------------hart/given----------------------------------

-------------------de jong--------------y.toure--------------------------
----a.johnson----------------tevez----------------------silva------------

-------------------Hart

----Boateng--Kompany--Lescott--Kolarov

-------------de Jong--Yaya

Silva------------Tevez------------Robinho

----------------Adebayor

Bench: Given, Toure, Zabaleta, Barry, SWP, A. Johnson, Bellamy

Mancini's two preferred formations (through-out his career) is 4-3-1-2 and 4-4-2 (with wingers) so I guess:

-------------------Hart/Given

----Boateng----Kompany----Lescott---Kolarov

----de Jong--Yaya---Barry/SomeoneNew

-------------------Silva------------

---------Adebayor----Tevez-----------

OR - when more width and crosses are needed from midfield

-------------------Hart/Given

----Boateng----Kompany----Lescott---Kolarov

AJ--------de Jong--------Yaya----------Silva

---------Adebayor----Tevez-----------

At least swap Robinho and Tévez round, I can't even imagine Robinho trying to play up top against Shawcross on a harsh January Wednesday, even if he was on top form!

well that way with robinho up top he can have a free role and he dosnt have to track back, also tevez can still keep his work rate there in that position
