Thanks for the helpful comments. Will try an experiment or two to get on the right wavelength.

Gents, loving your work. As a db admin (by default, but paid for it), I find in situations like this indexing the database works to lower cpu & query execution time - sadly I only know sql server, but mysql can't be that much different(?)

ffs are you a dalek?

I was on line from 1pm yeserday until it crashed. I refuse to let a few minor ( or is it Major - I am not very technical ) IT problems spoil my enjoyment of this Forum.

Good morning all.

Yeah, last night was a bummer, and I understand why - I gave up after a while. I still don't figure out why serious guests don't sign up when nothing is happening and it's reasonably quiet rather than pile in here after a major announcement. What would happen if 5000 Bluemooners all tried to visit at once ? I'd be more than happy to donate if it meant upgrading servers etc...here's hoping today is more relaxed.

wouldnt be the same...bluemoon not playing up when sommat big happening....nahh not for me..

when it plays up...its a good day.

Adds to the excitement.
Hundreds!! (thousands??) were dialling up bluemoon at the same time, at the peak last night. I'm not surprised it was slow.

@Damocles....

I assume this site is on a hosted server or is this not the case?

Dedicated server more expensive but I'm sure lots would contribute.
